I don’t mean to be mean, she’s no Cher. Her singing is rough and rock and roll, but she doesn’t seem to have the grasp of how to sing this song powerfully. It’s not convincing.

The song sounds very well with Bonnies voice, but the production of Chers version makes it more powerfull. This one results a little borring

My favorite used to be the cher version. But this version has grown on me I know love them both.

Juanito I. M. First, that is your opinion...many people think Cher is a horrible singer. Personally, I like both because I respect and appreciate the uniqueness of both artists voices. Bonnie is an amazing talent and her success in the music industry is the proof.

@Omlil she had Naturals back in the early seventies when she first got a recording contract with RCA she went to the doctors when her and her mother went to visit her grandmother did you read the strawberry pie Bonnie yelled at the top of her lungs oldfuck I forgot it and her voice has been that way ever since. She got a recording contract before she have the raspiness you can look up a song on YouTube called hey hey honeycomb this is before she got the raspiness

Bonnie Tylers version is more rock oriented and Chers is more radio  friendly.Both are awesome versions.Sadly American radio was not kind to Bonnie after her Faster Than the Speed of Night album. Her 1988 Notes from America album had great songs that other artists covered after her album came out, including this song.

I can't fathom how this version is more "rock oriented" than Chers! This is pure pop!

Bonnie will always be my favourite female artist but I do love Robin Beck as well (I have lots of her songs) and I even slightly perfer Robin's version of this song myself, she did a great job.

Robin Beck is much better than Cher & Bonnie Tyler, her's version is much faster,and with much passion than the other two!
