Bon Iver - 8 (circle) Lyrics

Philosophize your figure
What I have and haven't held
You called and I came, stayed tall through it all
Fall and fixture just the same thing

Say nothing of my fable, no
What on earth is left to come
Who's agonized and gnawed through it all
I'm underneath your tongue

I'm standing in your street now, no
And I carry his guitar
And I can't recall it lightly at all
But I know I'm going in

Too much for me to pick up, no
Not sure what forgiveness is
We've galvanized at the squall of it all
I can leave behind the harbour

I will run
(All around it)
Have to crawl
(Still can't stop it)
Along the fires
One more time just pass me by
Imma make it half the night
Hall light wishes

To walk aside your favor
I'm an Astuary King
I'll keep in a cave your comfort and all
Unburdened and becoming

I will run (all around it) (sailing off and on you're on your honor)
Have to crawl (still can't stop it) (carry off and up your seize)
Along the fires
Carry up love along unfettered time
Now, Mona

Haven't I locked up my failures (sailing off and on you're on your honor)
(From the core to the sky)
Wouldn't I be last to see? (carry off and up your seize)
(From the door till we die)
Deny with love my labour (carry up with love a long)
Atonements defined (was it all I could find?) (we live outside)
Keep waking up high

In these last days before Jesus Christ returns, many forms of divination such as astrology and occult numerology will be used to promote misleading interpretations of the Tribulation events and thereby facilitate wider acceptance of the false Christ. Cloaked with the Bible, these occult traditions are already being promoted to Christian audiences as 'Biblical astrology', 'Biblical astronomy', and 'Bible codes'. Labeling an occult practice as 'Biblical' does not change its nature or origin, which is pagan. Whatever the term used to promote divination, the Christian must look beyond the window dressing and examine the practice objectively. Scripture is very clear that the only safe ground for the Christian is strict adherence to that which God has plainly revealed in Scripture. To look for hidden codes, secret doctrines and esoteric interpretations is to open the door to Satanic influences

There is some real magic in this song.

  5. 仁今村

Since everybody is doing it, let me share with my personal experience with this song here.

Three years ago, I had a surgery and removed my gallbladder. I was 21 years old at the time. Gallstones are common disease and many people had ruptures with it.
But at that age, young people think that they are invincible, or at least that they are far from unhelthiness and unwellness of your body. I used to drink a lot, eat a lot, yet i was in a good shape, and never considered of my health. I'd never had any disease, ever. Then several ruptures happened and I was taken to the hospital. It was ground breaking for me because I never had any idea of a pain that comes from the result of my bad lifestyle. That was for sure painful. I had several surgeries eventually and ate bland hospital food for several weeks.

The freedom I had was suddenly disappeared. Then during the "imprisonment" in the hospital, I thought about many things of my future. Some people think that gallstone is nothing of pain because many people go through it, but to the people who actually experienced it, that's a life-changing event. Being able to experience at the mere 21 years old was one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. This changed my perspective.

When I got out the hospital after the surgery, I played the latest Bon Iver album at the time. And this song hit me and my soul. I remember the sky was blue as cobalt, the sun was cheerful as it's been. The hospital was located in the sub-urban area of a Japanese city. It was after noon on a week day, there were many elderlies walking on the street. And I specifically remember wondering what life these people had gone through. And every time I play this song, I have that vision in my head

  9. Malcolm mloclaM

As great as Bon Iver is, I miss the first two albums. They were so much simpler- acoustic, little to no post-production.
Please don't get me wrong, the albums since are still really good. But there was a certain magic to the first two.

  10. Paulie 44

who cares if Vernon is a satanist. there are far worse and more evil things in this world that control us everyday. i'd much rather not concentrate on the lyrics and simply enjoy the beauty of his music. stunning, surreal and genuine.

What I thought the lyrics were:
    " Philosophize your fear
    What a heaven, heaven help
    You called and I came
    Stayed talked through it all
Falling fixture just the same thing
    Say nothing of my favor
What on earth is left to come
Who's agonized and aww'd through it all
    I'm underneath your tongue
I'm standing in your street now
    And I carry his guitar
And I cant recall the light leave it on
But I know I'm going in
Too much for me to pick up
    Awwwwww
    Not sure what forgiveness is
We've galvanized the Squad of it all
I can leave behind the harper
I will run all around it
Have to crawl still can't stop it
    Along the fires
One more time just past me by
Ima make it half the night
    Woah Light wishes
    To walk beside your favor
    I'm an astuary king
And I keep indicating your comfort and awe
    Unburdened and becoming
    I will run
    All around it
Have to crawl still cant stop it
    Along the fires
Carry of love and fated time
    My Mama my mama
Sinning eyes locked up my failure, wouldn't I be last to see
    Denied my love my labor
Was it all I could find
    Keep waking up high"

Anyone else get all fucked up thinking about shit and listening to bon ivers music ?

  49. Kwame Mintah

I have a strong hunch Justin sung at a church in the past, or studied modern evangelical church music. This reminds me of the worship songs I used to hear at church. Almost all worship songs have "simple" vocal lines that are meant to feel epic and meaningful. This gives me the same feeling, along with carefully thought out instrumentation. It's quite the spectacle honestly. Bon iver is something else, man. I love these guys.

When I heard this song for the first time, it felt like it summed up everything I was feeling at the time. It was such a revelation and relief to listen to it.
A few years later I've now recorded my own version of it. It would mean a lot if you listened to it :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zl1dD-EsYs

This comment is going to age well

  73. Mellow Whale

This song kills me each time I must have heard it at least 500 times over the last three weeks. Justin is a genius. Nostalgia for things I’ve never had / owned / experiences plus this song takes me back to my ex. He dumped me years ago but oh this would have been our song had we still been together. Our song back then was Bloodbank. I don’t know if I miss him per se or if this song just makes me want to be around him breathe the same air even if for just a minute. Oh

  74. Frank

  84. AID.EN

Remind of a calmer version of purple rain. I think you can feel bon ivers soul speak through those lyrics

  85. magnussocks

Loved Holocene as well as most of what Bon Iver + solo Justin Vernon has created and I know this is going to become a life song as well. A song of rich memories, I may well listen as an old man and remember. The transition from "21 M♢♢N WATER" to this piece on the album is so so great as well, almost like that note ( you'll know if you listen) was left to linger without break and link the chaos from the end of "21 M♢♢N WATER" with this more ballad like emotional piece.

  86. cm spain

Bon Iver's music is so beautiful but I can never understand a word he's singing. I thought reading the lyrics would help but now I'm even more confused.

  94. Nico Grossi

  95. Robert Delatte

This whole album is about me. The symbolism is all there. The alchemy, the words. The meaning. 22 (Over SooN), I’m 22. Everything will turn to millions. Promise, just trust me. I’m Nimrod, the Sun ☀️ of God
