I was born in 1962 and adopted right after birth. It was nearly 40 years before I met my birth mother, and she told me that this is the song that always made her think about me - the baby she gave up. She passed away only a few years after I met her, and now I can barely listen to this song without crying. :(

He is still one of my favorites. I actually had the pleasure of having him to my house for dinner. After dinner we attended his concert and hosted a party for him afterwards. I actually got to sing this song with him. He was very down to earth person and humble.
