The original creator of these lyrics was by a man named Warren Broad. He was in the Vietnam war and wrote this while he was away from his wife and son. He was paid $10,000 for these lyrics. But no one could sing these words and make them fly like Bobby!

Bobby wrote this song while he was in the Army. It was from his personal experience!

Yea well i know better and I have seen the documents years ago in the late 70's and also the $10,000 cash Warren was paid from Bobby Vinton. FYI many singers do buy others people music! And have been doing so for years and the documents Warren signed were stating he would no longer have ANY RIGHTS once sold! Which also means a singer can tell whatever story they like to call it their own!! That's ok. I know what I seen and You know what you hear.

Yeah well whatever. Never heard such a crazy story. I know for a fact Bobby wrote this and it has no ties with anyone else!!

Inspiration to write our Soldiers, send cookies, most of all your pride, love and prayers for America.  My oldest brother joined the Air Force and he always wrote me.  I stood before our elementary class and read his letters, from Africa, written on onion type paper and I was bursting with pride.  When he came home on leave I somehow got his duffle bag, hid in a closet hoping he would go back.  In our class, my best friend brought in a birthday card her father got from President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who shared a birthday with her father, distant, but it didn't diminish the class enjoying the letter from brother, Bob.God Bless the United States of America and our new (SOON) Commander-in-Chief Donald Trump and staff.
