Bobby Darin - Try To Remember Lyrics

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow
Try to remember and if you remember
Then follow
Follow

Deep in December it's nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow
Deep in December it's so nice to remember
Without a hurt the heart is hollow
Deep in December it's nice to remember
The fire of September that made you mellow
Deep in December our hearts should remember
And follow
Follow
Follow

Whenever I hear this song all I can think of is the Mad Magazine parody from the 1972 U.S. presidential election:
    Try to remember
    This coming November
Vote Newman. Vote Newman. Vote Newman.

    Alfred E. Newman,
    Though slightly subhuman . . .

So much better than Ed Ames' recording that was played A LOT on the radio when I was growing up. Why didn't they play THIS one? Much better. Was the recording industry controlled by organized crime, controlling who got played/bought, for their investments?

    hategreed1 I also suspect so - did they suppress Bobby's beautiful songs/renditions ?

The exquisite and exceptional vocals of Bobby Darin the man who did everything in his own distinctive way, Bobby Darin style and he showed them all how it was done.....
Achieving all he set out to do in life Bobby left a huge body of work behind for the total enjoyment of his adoring fans from the days of his short life in the music and acting business, even now he still gains many new fans from across the globe every today.... Bobby the greatest entertainer of them all was a young man with exceptional talents who still remains irreplaceable today, as he is the one and only, the one of a kind who no one will ever be like as he is the master genius who managed to concur the globe with his awesome voice and style.... When Bobby opened his mouth to sing what came out was something exquisite that touched your own heart and soul so deep within you, can often bringing you to tears, does me anyway.... I have loved Bobby since 1956 when I first heard his wonderful voice and I can't get enough of his beautiful music, it is the real deal, soulful, warm rich emotional vocals that send me every time.... When Bobby sang or acted he gave 1,000 percent each and every time never over looking the smallest of details because it had to be just right, perfection was his middle name and he always out did himself by giving every little bit of himself for his adoring fans no matter who or where you were..... Bobby Darin still remains my hero, he's still a giant of a man to me...
Thank you for the precious memories Bobby you still rock my world, I miss you deeply
