Bobby Bare - Too Used To Being With You Lyrics

Mhm, too used to that certain someone
To offer my love to anyone new
My excuse for not wanting no one
Too used to being with you.

When you lose a true love you treasure
Other offers are just the past time
You find a kiss just a cheap imitation
The love they offer's not real genuine.

Too used to that certain someone
To offer my love to anyone new
My excuse for not wanting no one
Too used to being with you.

Some other's arms may hold and caress you
And some other's lips may burn on my own
While my eyes are filled with their beauty
My heart inside will be crying alone.

Too used to that certain someone
To offer my love to anyone new
My excuse for not wanting no one
Too used to being with you...

The lyrics of this song really hits home to anyone who has ever loved and lost a special someone...For it seems to take forever for any other to erase that pain in your heart and fill the void that was left behind..

thumbs down????? really now????? why listen then?????? go somewhere else with your thumb.

Look. I love Skeeter Davis and
    this song. But do
    you expect everyone to like
    something just
    because you do?
Do they have to like the same cuisines, literature, films, sports, pets, paintings, fashions, hair styles, religion, etc. or incur your
    wrath? Narrow-
    minded, tyrranical,
    "book burning," Nazi police state
    anti-free speech
mentality people are growing more prevalent on you tube comment pages. The dissenters are not
even making a speech, or even a
    comment. All they
did was hit buttons supplied by you
    tube for people to
    chose to hit either
    way as they wish.
    I can think of over
    500 songs off the
top of my head that a person would not like, and it would not phase
    me at all. You are
    free to choose
    what you like, or
    not. It should work
    both ways. I have
never run into such intolerance in my life as I see
exhibited on you tube comment pages. And people usually
don't even say what they like about a song
because they are so focused on the
    few who hit the
    dislike button.

    s.... ....

you are so correct,it is not good of me to lambaste choice,i was just having some fun here,i respect freedom of choice,as far as narrow minded goes,i am definitely not that,so point taken, have a great day.

    s.... ....

    For Steamcountry:
    That was really a
    nice reply, and
proves what a noble and caring
    person you are,
    rare qualities these days.
    Respectfully. Peace.😊

    s.... ....

@Milton Moore Shut up and keep it short!!!

    s.... ....

    @George B
    Congratulations! You
selected the WRONG GUY to post a wise-ass remark to, you illiterate trolling little prick. First off, you don't come on a you tube channel and tell
me to shut up, you mind-controlling Nazi-mentalitied freaking dingbat. Secondly, you stupidly demanded I "shut up, AND keep it short." If someone shuts up, it is illogical to demand shortness or longness if the person follows your
first demand. BUT THAT AIN'T HAPPENING! Furthermore, you ignorant, harrassing, aggravating, obtuse
knucklehead, this is not an audio comment page. We type messages, rather than speaking. So you need to switch your Hitlerian demand to stop writing in lieu of shutting up! You want to give me a reason why I should cease commenting, you buzzard-brained dummy? You forget to do that! You are just an obnoxious, vacuous, trolling jerk loser who
needs to be taken down a few notches.
You are like the ape that smears his putrid feces around the jungle to mark his territory, and then scoot off. AIN'T HAPPENING without some strong pushback! Got it?
Now buzz off, and go haunt a house, or something. BUT DON'T COME BACK.
    That's the caveat for you!

  18. M.... M....

Beautiful beyond words. God's angels themselves were listening in as this recording was being made!😃

  25. D.... W....

This type of music is just a thing of the past now , modern country is rubbish as far as l'm concerned, too comercialised and pop oriented .

  26. M.... S....

  27. g.... b....

Yes... another wonderful song of Skeeter and Bobby❣️❣️❣️

  28. G.... B....

    For ernst810:
You say: "Other affairs are just to past time"...it should be "Other affairs are just to pass time"
You say: "Some other's arms may hold and caress you"...it should be "Some other's arms may hold and caress me"
Thank you for posting these songs ernst810...They were great when I was a kid, they are 1000 times better today!

  29. I.... A....

    Never been made better!

  30. g.... ....

The best song that Skeeter and Bobby sang together...the best ever ...and they look so young in these pictures!!!

  31. M.... J....

When I was a boy to me Skeeter Davis was the greatest singer in the whole wide world. Her songs never left me even to this day.

  32. M.... M....

For you hardest of the hardcore Skeeter
fans, today a racehorse named in
    her honor is running
    today, Dec. 29, 2016
    at the GOLDEN GATE
    race track, race #7
    with jockey J. Hernandez aboard.
    She's the favorite to
    win in a group of
    10 at 6/5 odds. GO!
    SKEETER DAVIS!
("The horse is the most beautiful work of God that breathes!") Steve Reeves.
    I watched the race
at the Red Rock Resort Hotel Casino
    race & spots book,
    here in Las Vegas;
    Skeeter Davis won
    third place and looked great.

  34. M.... M....

Country music produced, far and away, the greatest male/female duets, and this one ranks among them. I've always liked Bobby Bare; he autographed a photo for me years ago while appearing at Dewey Groom's Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, Texas years ago. Regarding Skeeter Davis, this woman should be on a postage stamp; she could sing circles around many vocalists who are so honored. As appealing as she was with country songs, my favorites are her Gospel songs, especially CHILD OF THE KING, Written by the immortal country singer/songwriter Cindy Walker. Incidentally, I just discovered a racehorse named in honor of SKEETER DAVIS. She just ran at the GOLDEN GATE FIELDS in Albany, California on November 13th, 2016, race #7, with jockey J. J. Hernandez aboard. I am unaware of the results. At any rate......GO SKEETER! (Has anyone else noticed what nice people her admirers seem to be?)

    M.... M....

    Just love the song.Make!s

Two clean cut young ones. Just new to Bobby Bare—now my fav Bobby—there’s a lot of good Bobbies.
Skeeter was one of only two 45 I had. All I had was a turntable (no frame) with fat spindle, nothing but that, no speakers, no way to hook up old war headphones. So I had to listen to the needle. My fav song ever, 'The Eeeend of the World'. The accent was so heavy for an 8 year old Canadian lad. But I would listen to that song over and over, stretched out on the floor by a cold fireplace, head as close to the needle as possible. I have a lot of the little gal's work. She makes me smile. I was going to send her a letter, late in life, but then found out she had died a few months earlier. Regrets.
The the flip side of that old 45 was Bobby Helms', ‘My Special Angel’; and again, no one does it better. His accent was just as strange and interesting. I smile every time I listen to these two favourite songs. But nothing else of Bobby's seems to interest me. Still, I cherish his rendition of Special Angel.
This Bobby Bare is new to me. Good stuff.
My interests are eclectic, Classical, Opera, Blues (early Blues, especially), Reggae, Country, some Folk, all Rock, Chinese Opera. Rare it is that I cannot grow to appreciate a style. It just takes time to understand. I remember thinking I liked Aretha Franklin so bought an album and was disappointed. Then I listened to the album every night for almost a week, and suddenly, magic. She is a goddess. That’s all it takes. A little time. My latest new style is Ska. Old time reggae, or its precursor.
    I think Skeeter knows.
    Namaste and care,
    mhikl

    Your early experience listening to
    phonographic
    recordings was
    REALLY "roughing

    your tenacity!
