Bobby Bare - Ride Me Down Easy Lyrics

Ride me down easy, Lord, ride me on down
Leave word in the dust where I lay
Say I'm easy to come, easy to go
I'm easy to love when I stay.

This old highway she's harder than nine kinds of hell
The rides they're as scarce as the rain Light there it scares as the rain
When you're down to your last shop with nothing to sell
And too far away from the train.

Well, the good month of Sundays and a guitar to go
Had a tall drink of yesterday's wine
Left the long string of friends some sheets in the wind
And some satisfied women behind.

So won't you ride me down easy, Lord, ride me on down
Leave word in the dust where I lay
Say I'm easy to come, easy to go
I'm easy to love when I stay.

I put snow on the mountain raised hell on the hill
Lock horns with the devil himself
Been a rodeo bum a son of a gun
And a hobo with stars in his crown.

So won't you ride me down easy, Lord, ride me on down
Leave word in the dust where I lay
Say I'm easy to come, easy to go
I'm easy to love when I stay.

Heym won't you ride me down easy, Lord, ride me on down
Leave word in the dust where I lay
Say I'm easy to come, easy to go
I'm easy to love when I stay...

  19. E.... H....

Johnny Rodriguez's Version? Oh Please..His version was way out there in left field. all due respect dont think it made it out of the record shop let alone onto the charts

    E.... H....

It was an album cut, It wasn't bad, but Bobby's version is the one that makes this song good.

    E.... H....

Rodriguez's version got some airplay, but never made the charts

  20. G.... L....

They say it takes a good man to cry, how do you know when you have tears running down your cheeks, thank goodness for good music

  23. s.... ....

Bobby does a good job but Johnny Rodriguez does this song better than anyone. Check out his version here on YouTube.

    s.... ....

+smchinkie yes, johnny's version is the best

    s.... ....

So does David Allen Coe; it was the first version I ever heard back in the '70s.  I'll give Johnny a listen!

  24. P.... G....

Wow, a great song and done so well.

  25. J.... S....

    THE GREATEST!!!!!! JFS

  26. R.... ....

    Beautiful!

  27. E.... ....

If you are a Sirius XM subscriber, channel 56, Willie's roadhouse usually gives all of his tunes some pretty good airtime.

  28. L.... F....

I remember hearing this song years ago. I don't think they played it enough then. It gives such a feeling of meloncoly to me anyway.

  29. o.... ....

If you share these they will be with us forever.

  30. D.... B....

A very much under-rated singer. He went his own way and did his own thing, and I like that. I hope his music will never go away. What a loss that would be.

    D.... B....

David Bell he isn't going anywhere I'm in my early 30's and I love this he's a helluva singer

    D.... B....

Im 38 and l love it..

  31. M.... ....

Isn't this everyone's hope. What lyrics, who hasn't been there in some way. thanks

  32. c.... ....

I HATE these ADS - why do yo do do this to a good song - IDIOCY

  33. M.... ....

I looked for it too. So great! thanks,

  34. h.... ....

@savanderburg Bobby Bare does a good job as well.

  35. y.... ....

    D. A. Coe does a good cover also. One of Shaver's most brilliant gems.

  36. h.... ....

    This song sounds vaguely dirty.

  37. D.... J....

I looked for this song forever!!! Thrilled to find it!

  38. J.... B....

    @wambajamba

  39. P.... D....

Bare is a great country legend. One of the greatest of all times!

  40. m.... ....

By the time this recording was made, the Jordanaires were polished to their best ever. I think this was their finest performance.

  41. M.... H....

    Great lyrics!

  42. d.... c....

written by Billy Joe Shaver, I do believe

  43. P.... ....

Classic -- one of BB's great renditions!

  44. J.... A....

Not sure whose original song this is but Bobby Bare does a good job on it. -Jimmy
