B.o.B - Many Rivers Lyrics

Many rivers to cross (you ain't got to ask me what I do this for)
But I can't seem to find my way over (I do this for my city)

Constantly on the come up, constantly on the come up
But I always get this feeling and it's constantly on my stomach
I learned to always follow my instinct, when you come from where I come from
They try to make a nigga feel like King Kong in the concrete jungle
Damn, cause they don't teach niggas how to deal with anger
Nah, they only teach niggas there ain't nothin' real but danger
Politics will not swing in our favor
Cause all of us are rappers or entertainers
But I still woke up and said, "Young nigga, get it"
Cause this is your life you can choose how you live it

Are we just lost in the city of madness?
Or do the powers that be just lack human compassion?
I don't know...

And they don't want you to speak the truth, man
See when you speak the truth they like to make you feel crazy
But you ain't crazy, don't let them lie to you
Whoever you are, you out there
Keep doing you, man, fuck the haters
Let 'em hate, let 'em hate

You only get one life, you know
And this life ain't in my control
When you talk about politics, it's a rod for a lightning bolt
Tell me how do you fight a war when the price is for your soul?
When you gambling with your life, that's a hell of a pair of dice to roll
They say, "Bobby Ray where you went? All you talk about is whips"
I say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it take a sip
Yeah, everybody got their own two pennies
But what does that mean if it don't make sense?
I see the crowd, their hands up high
But what does that mean? What do they get?
At the end of the day what I get paid and they go home what do they think?
How can we ever be free if policies don't ever change?

You know, sometimes it feels like it's just against the world, man
Who really got our best interests, man?
Don't, don't, don't let 'em take your soul, man
Don't, don't, don't let 'em take your soul, don't take your soul

Many rivers to cross (you ain't got to ask me what I do this for)
But I can't seem to find my way over (I do this for my city)

No Genre
People ask me what No Genre means
You know, I once did a mixtape called No Genre
I didn't realize that no genre man, like no genre really described my career
People started, like, gravitating toward No Genre and, you know, I was like, "Fuck it, let's do a part two"
It really can't be defined by any genre, so
Fuck it man, No Genre

    B.o.B back!!

  79. C.... D....

AWESOME B.O.B!! Great song i personally was a huge fan from the beginning from adventures of bobby ray to strange clouds but was really dissapointed with underground luxery.. But this is great! way better thn U.L  looks like your coming back with great music than that undergroud luxery album. This is the B.o.b style that i have alwyas liked!! Looks like your back from my perspective! Amazing job bobby!!!

    C.... D....

what was wrong with his ul album? what songs did u not like? maybe it's because he went more gangster rap on that album than any other? i loved that album tho!

    C.... D....

If you were a fan from the beginning you would know hi my name is bob, who the fuck is bob, and cloud 9. If you know those albums you would know he has a ganster rap flow and a chill flow(listen to BoB vs Bobby Ray) and UL, whether you liked it or not, was still BoB.

    C.... D....

Yeah, like he said various times, thats he was very versatile and could do all kinds of rap. and yah i know cloud 9 and he did have alot of gangster rap on the eastside EP and it was pretty good. but yknow i just didnt really enjoy some of his songs on underground luxery because some of it sounded mainstream in my opinion and i dont think he that is what he is. and yes, BOB vs bobby ray is one of my favorite songs by bobby and i loved it, also loved eastide ep it had that good chill and rap flow yknow. but dont think i disliked the entire underground, i liked some, but i just thought some of it sounded kind of mainstream and stuff i havnt heard from him like headband idk i didnt really like that song in my opinion but it was pretty catchy haha. but BOB is versatile and can produce many songs, real stuff, fun stuff, etc. thats what makes him who he his and what separates him from many others. So yeah. he is very versatile and i did not dislike all of underground, but in my opinion , i just didnt like some of them cause its not what i thought bobs style was, headband and a couple others. but he was prob just expeiremeting and showing his versatility in some of those songs that he can be a bit of everything, real and fun. but my opinion. i just didnt like underground because it didnt sound like him in my opinion. but i respect him because he can be a very good artist.

    C.... D....

But guess it was good that it didnt sound much like his other work because he can show he can do everything

    C.... D....

One day, john doe and coastline were pretty good songs on the ul album

  80. M.... A....

Dope beat and verses from B.o.B., and looks more like Malcolm X than Denzel Washington did in the movie.

  81. N.... n....

    amazing as always

  82. A.... B....

    Thumbs up for this B.o.B!

  83. A.... D....

sweet baby Jesus i love this man!!!!!!!! and he is from Decatur! <3 man he makes that bow tie look REALLY good.

  84. B.... ....

I just wanna say I didn't like underground luxury but this is as good as so good

    B.... ....

Yeah that album had two quality songs and the rest were like what the fuck is going on?

  85. H.... ....

    Goes hard***

  86. R.... ....

Fuck Underground Luxury, THIS is music. I thought B.o.B was lost for a while there, but my faith has been slightly restored. I just hope that NG2 doesn't devolve into the materialistic themes of his last album.

    R.... ....

    ^HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Good joke bruh.

    R.... ....

It was in his interview :3 Look yourself

    R.... ....

@RDonnius Your small mind has to understand the fact that Underground Luxery was a very wide, openly tasted album and B.o.B. managed to make that album Amazing. B.o.B. has managed to make himself an artists that can do All kinds of Genre's. Hence why he calls these mixtapes No Genre, bitch.

Second, your small mind has to understand the other fact that HE is IN Atlantic Records. A music industry that is constantly on your ass telling you to HURRY the FUCK UP with the songs so WE CAN PUT THEM OUT AND GET OUR MONEY. If rappers are signed they wont have the time to do what they really love to do. And when that happens, quality becomes blurr and all of the sudden its pure crap, most of the time. All suddenly it became Quantity over quality, didnt it?

    R.... ....

These "old school songs" ain't exactly money makers. In order to make music, he needs that moola, so he makes those popular songs. #JustSayin

    R.... ....

    check out his elemental mixtapes if you haven't already (;

  87. M.... ....

    Malcolm X

  88. A.... w....

I like it. But I don't think you can get any better than no genre 1. That was the best music I've ever heard.

    A.... w....

Who cares if it's better? it's just Music, he made that one so that we can enjoy it. And now another one. what is the point of what you said?

Should he stop making music because he made one that you like?
And in your mind there's no way it can be any better?
    Lol people.

    A.... w....

@williameedubsix I still like his music? Dang.

  89. T.... ....

    This is tight.

  90. R.... ....

    Looooove it 😍

  91. D.... D....

    Love this!

  92. I.... ....

B.o.B is one the best out. There is no artist out right now like him. I fucks wit B.o.B and the Hustle Gang family to the fullest

  93. l.... ....

    B. o .B is still in this Bitch man damn straight

  94. K.... P....

A fan since couple of years now started with adventures of bobby ray and i still have the opinion that you should be much more popular, i love your voice

  95. C.... M....

    holy shit, excited much :D

  96. Y.... ^....

    <3 I like it

  97. J.... P....

This is like his older songs. Meaningful

  98. F.... ....

     Great Music...:)

  99. G.... K....

This gives me a taste of the old B.O.B. before he turned realllllly ghetto.

    G.... K....

Lol he didn't turn ghetto. He just wanted to go back to what started his career so just on one album he rapped about his childhood and shit like that .
