Can anyone please explain to me the relationship between this song and Turkey ?
Indeed, I can vividly remember when I heard it for the first time. I was blown away !

The song was playing on the radio in Istanbul some 15 years ago. Back then, I used to have a mp3/radio player, which I would carry with me whenerver I travelled abroad. I used to listen to the radio out of curiosity from time to time during my stays abroad.
Anyway, today I am reminiscing about this song and I hit youtube to listen to it for the first time since discovering it. To my great surprise, I see most of the comments in this section are from Turkish people. Hence, I am wondering whether it is popular in Turkey.

I bought this cd long time ago just for this song what made me very disappointed was; I could not even transfer the song from the cd because of copy right block to my iPod ..my first thought was how much more money do you want Dylan ?

@David Sutherland I used to hate it when I was a teenager. but now that I am living on my own and trying to survive, I love it :) people change their preferences.

Every song contains many elements, and I think Bob gets most of them right must of the time:
The poetry
The melody
The chords
The vocal passion
The accompaniment
The harmonies
The "roughness" of his voice ...
Each and all are special in this song.

the drums/drum tone on this album are some of the best drums ever recorded.

He had an incredible drummer on this album. That wooden sound of his snare cuts through the mix brilliantly and perfectly and his rhythm patterns are fantastic. Also, the acoustic guitar throughout the album is perfectly mixed, IMO (although I think Bob would disagree with me). Sometimes, you only hear the strumming coming through from the pick sweeping across the strings; you can barely hear the chords, just the strumming rhythm--I love that!

The first time I listened to this song, I was going to my hometown Kastamonu from İzmir and I was in a bus. The bus climbed so many bends and reached a hill's top. I saw this song on the playlist of the company and I started to listen to it. The sun was about to rise and I didn't know how much road we took till that point. The bus took the last bend and at that moment, I saw huge, plain fields, a valley I couldn't see where it ends while the sun was rising and started to make warm all the land. I couldn't take myself out of the song. While we were going down from the hill, I was in another world, we were in the valley and there was one or two tears in my eyes maybe because of happiness or because of some reason I still don't know but I felt like I understood something and I felt I was belonged to it. To all the people who can feel these things with love...
