Some of the lyrics sound so familiar and even the beat sounds familiar, like I've heard them in another song but I just can't figure out which song.

I haven't heard this song in ages. Never heard it in English. I'm really surprised how well it translates over. Most translated songs sound really silly. This one ALMOST sounds like it could have been written for English.

Whoever translated/wrote the lyrics to this version - PLEASE CAN YOU WORK WITH EVERY ARTIST TRYING TO DO THE SAME - so many japanese/english producers try to translate the lyrics literally for songs and it sounds horrible. this is such an iconic song in korean and they've managed to translate it perfectly. - we don't need it to be directly translated line by line please.

This sounds exactly like a slowed down version of TVXQ's Are You a Good Girl. I love Yoo YoungJin but sometimes he's a bit lazy with his composing skills. -_-
(ie. Most of SJ's title tracks sounding like Sorry, Sorry and SNSD's Mister Mister sounding like BoA's Eat You Up.)

This song is the story of my life!! Boa and SHINee's versions were different... Boa's version states gender equality but SHINee's was about boy groups wanting to be popular against how much people favored girlgroups in the KPOP INDUSTRY back then.

@PeaceCheeseLovenRAWR BoA sang the original version of the song in korean in 2005, before any of the SHINee members were even out of high school. And their version defeats the purpose of the song, since it's about female empowerment. Men don't need empowerment anthems, since korea has been and still is a patriarchal society.

I really don't like the rap in this version. It has nothing to do with the song and it's a sterotypical American rap talking about cars and money. However, apart from that I do like this version, though the Korean one does seem to hold a stronger message

I really wish I could find lyrics for the rap in the middle. Every lyric site I've looked on just has (rap) written where it should be. My college is having a HUGE talent show type thing and I wanna sing this but if I can't find the lyrics for the guys part I can't find a guy to sing with

oh man, this is good, this is her best English ver. song I've heard. Her English is usually quite broken, but here it's closer to sounding like a native speaker than I've heard from her. Love that you have the lyrics written out, too bad you couldn't get the words for the rap in, cause that's the only part I couldn't understand very well... oh well, great one
