The first time I listened this song I was so happy, now my life sucks.

Have and always will have beautiful sad memories about this song

An unpopular opinion here--Resigned is my favorite song of all time. Its has an incredibly melancholy and peaceful sound to it, which I adore. Coxon gives it an energetic edge that I think completely makes the song. Listening to this song brings me to an indescribable, euphoric place that no other music can bring me to. I feel like I am a better person after I listen to it. I feel more appreciative, serene and hopeful. My only wish is that they would play this live once in my lifetime. I think that would compete me.

Man wie vermisse ich die Zeiten als der Britpop seinen Höhepunkt erlebte. Klar ich kann mir immer noch die Songs anhören und sofern präsent kann ich mir noch einige Bands live ansehen dennoch das Gefühl wo alles locker, leicht und easy ablief mit dieser tollen Musik im Hintergrund ist irgendwie im Hintergrund getreten oder fast abhanden gekommen. Trotzdem ein Hoch auf Blur und ganz resignieren sollte man nie.

It comes from Blur's very early days...in fact, so early they were still called Seymour (i.e. 1989). They'd play this to close their gigs, and play Intermission to open their gigs. Back then, Intermission was more aptly called "the Intro" and Commercial Break was "The Outro".
Short songs like this sound so distinctly britpop to me, yet it came from the late 80s.

I want this to be my funeral song, well death song, well music I'd preferably be played when I have died... minus the irrelevant pop shit at the end. Maybe have my voice robotically say bollocks instead.

Man, it's songs like this that just make me think about going somewhere new. Exploring the world on my own. What a beautiful, moving closer to such a cool album.

I often read on Blur forums that even fans don't like Resigned that much. I personally LOVE it. Gotta love Damon's melancholy and the dream-like instrumentalisation and production of this song.

Ambra Rotondo It's really sad, I think even Blur themselves forgot about it, did they play it live even once? Personally I'd much rather hear this than live staples such as Beetlebum that have been overplayed
