This is probably Blue Rodeo's most underrated song. It should be right up there with Try and Lost Together when we think of their greatest hits.

Again. Another great song. So little recognition. But Gangnam Style gets over a billion hits. Something so wrong. This will last longer than most out there.

Seeing how low the views are on the actual artist's channel makes want to see youtube crumble and fall out of existence. We need to go back to when making a mix tape for your girl friend was considered a romantic gesture. Now some other punk kid is benefiting from the talent of a true artist because their version this song is better click bait.

The way some of the songs have come about to me is quite a bit astonishing. A man view of Love and how he feels about it. Never ventured never gained. How beautiful it is when we can make it work. How terribly we are crushed when it falls a part. Only other men truly know what it is we feel. Blue Rodeo music gives other a chance to truly understand this. Definitely one Canadian all time favorite bands

Very well said.  I wholeheartedly agree.  I recently discover Blue Rodeo and Jim Cuddy and I am 100 per cent hooked on a feeling; everytime I listen, I am kept coming back for more.  Beautiful!

Jim's got one of those unmistakable voices that you really don't want to, or ever should compare, to anyone else's. It's his. It's powerful and beautiful and awesomely distinct. The fact that he crafted this song to allow us to share in that sense of "vulnerability" even if we dont' wanna admit it, is a credit to his intelligence and empathy for us all.

Best Canadian band ever...best country band ever.

I certainly wouldn't say they're strictly country. In fact I wouldn't call them a country band at all. Although they do some country style songs, they have a very distinct original sound. To mush Blue Rodeo in with all the country artist would be rather insulting to them. (Bear in mind that I like country.) It's just that Blue Rodeo's typical style is not country. They're more of a rock (folk rock) group more than anything.

This song came out three months before the death of my sister. She was in the hospital upon its release, and I remember buying the CD with my last $20 so we could listen to this song. So many tears have been shed to this song, yet it gives me the power to carry on. We're careful and we're cunning, but we're easily bruised.

I wish I'd seen your comment earlier,but it doesn't change what you said back then and how I feel now. I went to one of their Toronto concerts and basically snuck in,to the back stage. Jim (Cuddy) walked up and rounded me up as a "fan" and I spent an hour with this great band. Kyle,I wish you the best and I hope you find some great music!

Your experience somewhat mirrors mine. I hope you are doing well. My brother was told he might have weeks to live, to prepare for the end. I made him a CD since I had to fly back to Toronto, not knowing if I could see him again. I remember crying on the plane. The doctors were wrong, there was hope. My brother did live, and the experience has changed many lives. Words can sometimes heal, with the right lyrics, and the right music, they create magical memories. Hold onto your memories, your sister is with you always.
