Blue Oyster Cult - Transmaniacon MC Lyrics
With satan's hog no pig at all, and the weather getting dry
We'll head south from altamont in a cold blooded travelled trance
So clear the road my bully boys and let some thunder pass
We're pain, we're steel, a plot of knives,
We're transmaniacon MC
Behind the pantry, behind the tree, the ghouls adopt that child
Whose name resounds forever, whose name resounds on terror
And I'm no fool to call that hog, cause man I remember
Those who did resign their souls
To transmaniacon MC
And surely we did offer up behind that stage at dawn
Beers and barracuda, reds and monocaine
Pure nectar of antipathy behind that stage at dawn
To those who would resign their souls
Cry the cable, cry the word, unknown terror's here
And won't you try this tasty snack, behind the scenes or but the back
Which was the stage at altamont, my humble boys of listless power:
We're pain, we're steel, a plot of knives
We're transmaniacon MC

Blue Oyster Cult Transmaniacon MC Comments
I really like Al Lanier's accompanying keyboards at the start.
As a BOC fan from the first album, it always surprised me that Don't Fear the Reaper was their big radio hit when songs like this went basically unnoticed
Ah, BOC! Best Metal band, EVER!!!! In their fan club the 1st time I heard this! SAVE THE BLUE OYSTER CULT....FROM THEMSELVES!
Their first release and Very Fine one. Transmaniacon is a Killer!

goooood,
Got a haircut today, stylist was a Metal fan, but never heard of BÖC. Told her, hope she does some research. Gave her a $tip, anyway.

Have always loved the cover. Used to listen while looking at it stoned. I can't even tell you all the things I saw...not that I know if they are real or not. "They were real to me!"
Steppenwolf and Iron Butterfly and Captain. Beyoooooooond!
Oyster Cult is definitely great garage band keeping to their roots!!
Rod Evans was cool.

One of the most underrated bands ever!
Now i'm a redhead just now i think

there is a novel inspired by the song. The author went on to write lyrics for the BOC for their most recent two albums and a forthcoming album planned for the fall.

dah dah dah dah dah dah dahhh....
What if i said I didn't Know you What kind of person would I Be
the intro is astounding
It reminds me of Leper Messiah by Metallica. Cliff was hugely influenced by BOC.
I will love this band until I draw my last breath (which, hopefully, will not be anytime soon). It just amazes me how great these guys were. BOC and Queen were just about the greatest bands ever.
You had me up to "and Queen."
Chris Damon Agreed.
My dad reminds me of my worth today.in REAL TIME
With Lyrics please
did not come home for weeks at a time? and I blame suzi creamcheese?
OUCH? Ginseng is so over-rated?
I love transmaniacons?
this was considered heavy metal in its day LOL
By who ? ....
this is my favorite song when i go snow cruising in my fozzie
BOC BITCH!!!!!
Un des meilleurs albums. Le meilleur de blue Oyster cult. C'était l'époque où je dessinais le signe, partout.
Alan Laniers Keybords get way to ignored
These scary car stereo salesmen from Long Island can really rock!!
Drummer very underrated👍
This whole album sounds like an alien transmission from another galaxy 👽
Proto blues or metal?
this is one of the most legendary bands of all time.. and their messages run deep !!! Vengence the pact.. The black blade, and monsters.. i am still going through the motions.. pure musical magic..
I thought the song about the actress that couldn't drive worth a shit was magical as hell! HA!
Their first album is fucking clutch man
A great opening statement, production a little thin, but the potential shines through. They had an arc which just kept rising, perhaps ' Imaginos ' being the peak.
Secret Treaties was the pinnacle. But you referencing Imaginos as a possible peak is why I responded. That album is really amazing. Intriguing, beguiling heavy, heavy hard rock songs that received no audience or honor. Maybe because it was too many years too late from BOC fame days, and so it is not a sound well ahead of its time but well after its time. I still am amazed how great it is. Lyricist Sandy Pearlman and song writer and drummer Albert Bouchard have always shown genius in their contributions to the Blue Oyster anthology. More than any others, IMO, although all the band members contributed so well.
BOC is the highlight of and best reason for being on Earth. They are too good to be perceived by mediocrity.
Walter, if anyone perceives BOC as mediocre then they know Jacksh*t about Rock music. One of the tastiest back catalogues in rock, dozens of great songs from 1970-2001. Legends ...
"They are too good to be perceived by mediocrity." Wish I'd said that Walter. So true.
Yes, you said it so perfectly as others have noted your way. Blue Oyster Cult is the antithesis of a Motley Crue or a VanHalen. With the Cult, you do not even know what you heard until you have listened to their album at least five times. Then it begins to unfold and be revealed. Especially their first three albums. No greater rock compositions have ever been penned. That is my opinion, but it may also be the truth. Secret Treaties has no rivals.
BÖC is another reason to love Classic Metal. These guys are now one of my fave acts \m/
Not metal
This is prog rock you clueless bastard.
oops?, all you DODO birds are missing out on a biker bash where men are a bit questionable
horned swoop bungo pony
That flourish Buck does at 1:35 is fucking awesome
Buck is always a beast dude. Utica NY .. saw them in the bars back when I was a kid
My humble boys of listless power
And surely we did offer up, behind that stage at dawn; beers and barracudas. Reds and monocaine.
lol drugs
TEMAZO"...Gracias.
Album 1, Side 1, Song 1. For all the times I've seen these guys in concert (and its been PLENTY), I've never heard them do this song live. Curious.
They just used this song to open their UK shows at the end of June 2017 ... a fantastic way to start a gig with Buck quickly tearing into a killer lick & Eric leering away behind his shades ...
They played it Sunday night, and 4 others from it.
Blue Öyster Cult is a great band straight from this first album.
Willie, straight from their real debut album "St Cecilia" as the Stalk Forrest Group in 1970. Buck and the boys had it from day one.
one of a handful of albums required for any collection of rock music... top to bottom and side to side a great album
Slash? who's that ? 2 of the best rock solos are on this album. Slash never did a thing for me..
Motorcycle Club for MC ... like the Hell's Angels etc a biker gang.
You how old? Altamont! This is a hells angels song.
Triplet - Buck plays on another level to most guitarists, class, tone, originality, judgement, brevity etc always, always a delight to hear him play. No flash and ego involved, plays for the songs every time. Legend....
behind that stage at dawn................hehehe
my favorite from the album
Jammin Buck and Eric..!!
Still rocks after all these years..!
Hot rails to hell
Going to listen to all albums after this. This will be a good day. I was born too late.
Yes, born too late, but not born too dull not to realize it. You get it. Most never will.
meilleur album
Buck Dharma tares shit up on guitar!
After two years, I finally fixed it! I hope you're still rocking on too!
Perfectly Maniacal!
muito bom FUCKER
Buck is the best.
Cities on flame with rock and roll
"Buck is the star... he's the star, yeah."
como não adorar BOC
como não adorar BOC
bum-bum-DAH, bum-bum-DAH
A great song about a horrible tragedy. The Altamont Festival Stabbing.
That asshole who got stabbed had a gun and was aiming it at people.
I think the guy who knifed him had dropped some acid and was trippin' balls. I think there is video of him on the corner of the stage with a wild eyed glare. The HA's were supposed to provide the security. I'm guessing the black guy had his own paranoia immersed in the largely white audience. MC man meets Black man. The HA's rolled out through the crowd after that.
Golden Sun the way we got it was that the angels self appointed themselves security of the stones and one of them shot the guy. the stones wanted to stop the show and get the hell outta dodge but the promoter said it would get much worse if they stopped. so the show went on and mick shit his pants...
hey is that cow bell i hear? i love cow bell
@pandarama67 didn't hear it.
@tulllguy oh well maybe it was guitar then I'm not sure cause the similarity to cowbell is uncanny
@pandarama67 I think it's just a real tight snare drum.
+LincolnFStern I was thinking the bell area on the ride cymbal, huh?
needs more cow bell
they really should of used some cow bell in this song.
@pandarama67
+pandarama67 *should have
@drithligh you say tomato, I say tamayter
+pandarama67 Sigh....
This is such a badass song! I would love to play this in a band!!
@312Duck This whole album is why I learned to play guitar. I'll never be as good as Buck, but I can play most of the stuff on them. But when Buck goes off on a tangential solo, wow.
+LincolnFStern You may never be as good as Buck, but you can be the best you can be. That's way more important. I use to teach guitar and I always told my students, it doesn't matter if you ever become as great as your heroes (at least in your opinion), but the main thing is to just have fun. If you do that and just thank the stars that you can play some cool stuff, that's enough. I know I'll never be as good as my hero, Steve Howe, but I also know I've played and written stuff that he would never have thought of. When I was a teen I was highly self critical, but it's really silly in the end to hurt yourself. So now, I'm an old fart and I'm just happy I can play some cool stuff.
+312Duck Grab a cowbell
the Minutemen did!
iriemike420 Are you retarded or just 12?
this is insanely good. the piano track is almost inaudible, but it is a killer piano piece.
this song is a masterpiece.
lets rock!
my friends
Was fortunate to see BOC at the Grande Ballroom right at the end of it's demise. The Grande would open at the spur of the moment, i think the booking agents didn't want to pass up a good act, in this case--BOC! The Band had a chance to soak up some of that Grande Mojo for sure!!! The set consisted mostly of their 1st album, and they rocked the packed house down Boy Howdy!!! Made me a lifetime fan of these Long Island dudes. Can't remember who Headlined--hahaha. As far as the cruise down to the Grande that evening, we were in a friends 64' SS427 Impala. The Neighborhood around the Grande wasn't the safest, and nobody liked to take a sweet ride down there, but Terry had it covered. His Shepherd was ridding shotgun in the back--hahaha. Nobody ever fucked with his shit when 'HiTLER' was foaming around the backseat!!! Man-oh-ManoChevis' those were some GREAT TIMES!!!
I've been listening to these guys' music for some 35 years... but still don't get it! Their dark attraction is just overwhelming!
This is rocking good music. I love Blue Oyster Cult - special in their early years. Thanks for posting!!
No doubt about that !
Hot rails too hell?
2nd album.
bought this record when it came out bc it had a John Lennon endorsement sticker on the front. Very happy when i heard it. Yea Buck is kick ass guitarist. I would say they blew away Bob Seger when I saw them in mid 70's, but when they came on, drew abbott kicked my ass so bad. guitar players dream concert.
Why oh why did BOC change their style after the black and blue period. The were musical perfection. Ruined by commecial success.
Del Shoemaker True lol they've always been an underground and underrated rock band and pioneers of heavy metal, they didn't at least try to make commercial mainstream status until in the late 90's! But they have a cult following indeed; they are still one of my favorites bands and I love all songs by them! XD
The early albums are great, but I loved Mirrors too, even if it was a different style.
Honestly dont think so. Lots of Rock n' Roll on their early albums (first 3 of 'em), combined with that 'magical BÖC'- sound only Böc was ever able to achieve. I don't think they sold out after that though. In fact, they got even more melodic and interesting in their themes as before (compare 'The Vigil' from Mirrors with Cities on Flame from their debut f.i. , which you rlly think is the more intelligent, original song? (even though I quite enjoy Cities on Flame).) I think the only thing that rlly changed was their sound (only their sound, not their unique songwriting and music, not at all!), getting a bit more poppy on Mirrors and was, I admit, a bit drowned in 80s production later on (in this time they actually had a few bad songs like 'Let Go' or 'Make Rock not War', but the others were still great.)
Change is the only constant
Scott after the "Black & White" period of the 1st 3 albums they changed the way they wrote their music ... they left the large house in Long Island where they had written as a group or in pairs to take recording equipment home to write individually ..
There was no deliberate effort to be commercial until The Mirrors album in 1979 where they employed Tom Werman to do just that ...
In 1980 & 81 it was Martin Birch to move away from that approach again ...
When I'm hearing this first song of the first album of my favourite band ever, I say to myself : "And the butchery begins..."
Their best album I think.
Probably secret teatries
I remember 1990 LOS CONTENTOS (spanish band) playing this song
The original LP sounded pretty bad. The early CDs in the 80's sounded worse. Then MFSL did a remastering job... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! It's sounded FANTASTIC ever since.
We used to send off for the lyrics to a po box on the album cover. We couldn't wait to get em back. Then it was party time.My how things have changed.
Cue stun guitar.
What a fantastic sound. This album is very groovy.
sure is!
Rock Band 2 DLC
Yes! :D
Absolute classic.
Yes ok... i may be too old and spoiled as nothing cant touch the music i grow up on :( It can actually annoy myself at times. I am such a music-Nazi
Allen Lanier RIP
Metalheads today are little poser douchebags who are scared to listen to anything but what makes them feel like they are relevant. I feel sorry for them, umm, no i don't!!! phuck 'em
I think that one band that plays death metal but has melody and harmony, although it has a lot of agressiveness is Death, especially the last 3 albuns
a good example
100%. that "new metal" wtf?
They ride on the good name of metal (ACCEPT, JUDAS, SAXON).
death, black, speed total crap, no sway, no rock,no catchy melodies, just fukken noise. then the kinds of empty, says nothing and sound SAME , in the overrated bag of Creedshit. hes porrige in the throatvoice, and they all sound very equal, smart have same BORÍNG sound on every song from every band people seem dumb enough to beleive its good as they seen it on tv, assbribed radiostations & other empty lies
was both..and still is.
So far from the truth brotha.
i learnt how to play guitar on Buck's virsuosity!
Found this unknown band on a dinky LP rack in a lil health food store on the north shore of Oahu in Haleiwa when it came out and was blown away....maybe it was the times... & substances... but I still dig this album.
Its said the first 3 BOC albums are thin sounding-never mind that shit, they are great.
excellent description
