Blue Oyster Cult - Light Years Of Love Lyrics
When we met it was a white hot star
The speed of light between two hearts
It felt like love, it sounds bizarre
But in your eyes I could see so far
Was it an angel who brought us here
Old old songs, but the love goes on
Changing life into a song
It took light years, light years of love
Light years, light years of love
Of love, of love
Our love is like the shining sea
In salty foam, we can feel so free
In your arms I can be anything
We've got light years, light years of love
Light years, light years of love
Of love, of love
[Repeat]

Blue Oyster Cult Light Years Of Love Comments
Does anybody know what the future holds? Not me!! I just party through lifetimes 🤫🏺🔥⚱️
1977 = I Love the Night
1983 = Light Years of Love
Who sings??
Joe ...
Yeah love this tune it's a beautiful way for Joe to end his time in BOC.
Always a sentimental favorite,longing,loss,gain,perspective,truth,just like life,never quite enough,a favorite
ok this shit band from hercule poirot land copied tis song.. STOLE!!!
So strange how music works. When I heard this 30 years ago, it did nothing for me. I rediscovered it recently and it touches me deeply.
Reminds me of a girl I met back in 1984.
love this song...hypnotic little guitar riff! ' but in your eyes i could see so far.'..poetic.
Something special about this song!
Joe and Al Bouchard were the life blood of BOC.
I don't see any need to see Dharma and Bloom perform with others now, without them and Lanier.
But they had a helluva run in the seventies.
Probably saw them ten times, at least.
Stellar.
You are 100% right to respect Joe, Albert & Allen & miss them playing as BOC BUT I saw Blue Oyster Cult in June of this year & it was easily the best night I've had for a few years ... 2 hours of fabulous music, felt like I was 18 again & "floated" home afterwards with a permanent smile on my face.
When we met it was a white hot star
The speed of light between two hearts
It felt like love, it sounds bizarre
But in your eyes I could see so far
Baby baby shouldn't know no fear
Was it an angel who brought us here
Old old songs, but the love goes on
Changing life into a song
It took light years, light years of love
Light years, light years of love
Of love, of love
Our love is like the shining sea
In salty foam, we can feel so free
Caress the night with our cool skin
In your arms I can be anything
We've got light years, light years of love
Light years, light years of love
Of love, of love
reminds me of our last Jam!
Not ur typical BOC song . however the music arrangement is state of the art..................
so lovely !!!!
+Gentil Dauphin I agree like sit pn my lap?
Can't stand it when people slag this song....I can't think off a better way to close the album than this. If you're a true BOC fan then you should like this, IMO.
this song takes me back to a time in life which I miss so dearly. Life changes, times come and go. Its sad, but in a contented way. BOC is one of my favorite bands for reaching into my soul.
I have to agree with you on this Wayne, if only there were another way to go back and re experience this again. For now, listening to this song is like stepping into a time capsule...
same 2 me
this is classic b.o.c -couldve came out in the 70,s , much better than most of cukltosaurus and fire etc- only 2 slow songs on it - the rest kicks ass
RbN totally looks their early gems in the eye, as it summarizes BOC's *maturity*
It's funny: When Revolution by Night came out in late 1983 I got to know side one really well. Whenever I think of this Lp I think of "Shooting Shark." I kind of blew off side two because I was distracted with other things in my life at the time (college graduation, mainly). Then I recently got this album in a digital format and discovered this particular song. I really like it now and it's been running through my head. It's an unusual song for BOC, but a good one. I agree with the poster who wrote that only true BOC fans know about this one.
A true sleeper.
Don't think they ever did it live, but I may be mistaken.
I met Joe Bouchard at a bar outside Ithaca NY one night when he was playing with his own band after he left BOC.
@crazyfeline i heard them play shhoting shark and dragon ldy live
This song is so beautiful. Really feels like you're soaring through another time and dimension. I just love the languid guitar notes and ethereal synths during the verses.
+celticbro2828 Listen 2 searching 4 Celine!
celticbro2828 yes, languid. Ha.
one of the best for sure
+Naty xuxu good song have u heard fireworks?
Great song that only true BOC fans know about.
Lightyears of love? That's a lot of fucking!
Antithesis couple of few in and outs...
a lightyear is a measure of distance
we All in the revo by night say ty for uploading
yep. i talk to many co-workers and most of them know the popular ones. I told them i was surprised how good this band is after listening to a lot of their albums. Just insane.
What a song!
Totally overlooked.
Joe Bouchard knew how to write 'em.
@carolinerenee66 and the national lottery for Nosferatu and life time membership to the this Miss World hareem club for Fallen Angel. BOC just isn't the same without the Bouchard Brothers.
Joe Bouchard deserves to win Euromillions for creating this.
I agree, BOC is underrated as a band, love their songs especially Veteran of the the Psychic Wars, Epic stuff.
@cuttlefisch what is wrong with the production?
Incredible song, one of my favorite BOC tunes.
These guys gave birth to Metallica, as Hetfield said and I quote, "If BOC never existed, Metallica would never have existed, all of us are influenced by them"
I feel though that this whole album was left down by the terrible production.
surreal and amazing.
I see...it would be nice to hear Buck sing it though since you can hear Joe struggling for support on some of the high notes.
No, it was Joe and it could even be seen as another Vampire song due to being immortal being why they have light years of love.
Not sure about Joe on vocals...Wonder if Buck ever sang this song???
What a nice song to close an album with...
I dig this song, it has a special feeling. Joe really knew how to write a song with a distant feeling, like Nosferatu.
