The Black and White Years were just amazing...i was just a kid and loved them...finally was old enough to see them live Black and Blue show...but would have love to see these first years

listening to this tape cranked all the way up while cruzing down the jacksboro hiway back in the early 70s in a 69 olds 442 on a cold texas night , brings back fuzzy but good memories

I've always loved boc since my dad used to jam it out when I was really young. I saw them up in Binghamton NY where I'm from back in the 80s. I was about 18 at the time. They came with RUSH of all people. It was a kick ass concert ! Pure rock

Great! Inspired by Sgt Preston of the Yukon ( the videos are on YT! ) it transmogrified into "The Red and the Black" another classic. First 2 albums were .masterpieces. LOL I saw them open for the Mahavishnu Orchestra at Stoneybrook U. I love BOC, but The M.O. kicked ass that night.

I didn't like this album at first. I like it now. Guess I was expecting Sabbath. No this is just cool late 60s smirky guy in dark shades and dusty leathers revving up his Harley kind of music.

I must be different, to me this was the best album of the time. The others were so boring but BOC had that je ne sais quoi.

Buck is as good as Tony. 2 amazing bands.

Great song! Definitely under-rated song from unappreciated band. Some of BOC's early stuff was just unbelievably creative, kick-ass hard rock. And the lyrics? These guys were songwriting Ph.D's. Just my opinion, though.

Sometimes I wonder if the band would try this version of the song at their live shows, instead of The Red and the Black. I think it would be really cool. Nothing against the Red and the Black, but this song has a very cool rockin' vibe to it.

I saw them do it at BB King's about 5 years ago.

I almost cant contain it. Career Of Evil, Lips in the Hills, Dr Music, Hot rails, in thee, Deadline + 85% of thier full lineup. Best Band Ever.

They did keep that haunting beauty as only they can write though.Their next album was another masterpiece [Spectures] & a hit to boot..Cultasuauris Erecttus is a METAL MASTERPIECE. Al the live albums R great! Agents Of Fortune did have 5 great songs though and was the breakthrough album the band needed.I have every one they have ever done and have seen them 18 times.I will add again the second and third albums and that first live album are in a class of their own. Gonna post some now on facebook

If you have the first three, You have two of the greatest rock records ever released! If people did not have to make a living at this music thing I think they would have done another three like the first but..bands have to have hits or bye-bye record contract.They overhauled their music, learned how to write commericial music. I agree. Although their 4th album, "On Your Feet, Or On Your Knees" was also a really good album (being a live album of their 1st three). After that they went commercial. I bought Agents of Fortune, but none after that. Last days in May is my all time favorite!

This album absolutely blew me away back in '72, still does today. No silence between the tracks, just one great song after another till you can't even catch your breath, except when you have to flip the LP (remember, Boomers?) Definitely in my Top 5 of All Time.

the red and the black was released on a much later album as a remix and doesn't really do this song justice in my opinion

I've never been able to determine which one I like more, but speed metal seems to have been born with 'The Red and The Black'!

0:30 Classic BOC drum fill! The second 24K gem in a row from an all-time great album, and a good example of how BOC, at least in the early days, were more straight-up rock 'n roll than metal. To me they sound here like a phenomenally clever and ambitious bar band--which is a compliment. :-)
