If I'm not mistaken, it was an opinion within the song. Nobody knows exactly WHY we have dreams. Oh to help prepare us to cope with situations? Didn't know irl I'd get handed a pizza sub by my cousin that has human hands in it. Good thing my dream prepared me, now I know I gotta take that sub and go toss it into a dumpster near my house.
