Blink-182 - Apple Shampoo Lyrics

She didn't mean to deceive you, believe me
But sometimes the hardest part is conceiving

The good intentions that you had
Now only came to this
And although she saw the mark
The arrow missed

It isn't exciting reciting the stories
Of kind words turned hurting when routine get boring

Both getting tired of punk rock clubs
And both playing in punk rock bands
The start was something good
But some good things must end

And she said, "It could never survive
With such differing lives
One home, one out on tour again

We may never come back
The strike of a match
The candle's buring at both ends."

And now she knows too much
And I'm too fucked up
It's awkward trying to make my move

I'll pretend that I'm fine
Show up right on time
But I know I'll never be that cool

I never wanted to hold you back
I just wanted to hold on
But my chance is gone

I know
just where
I stand
a boy
Trapped in the body of a man and

I'll take what you're willing to give
And I'll teach myself to live
With a walk-on part of a background shot
From a movie I'm not in

She's so important
And I'm so retarded

And now I realize
I should have kissed you in L.A.
But I drove home all alone
As if I had a choice, anyway

Where are you coming from?
What are you running from?
Is it so hard to see?

And if you're feeling scared
Remember the time we shared
You know it meant everything (everything)
You know that it meant everything to me

You know that it meant everything to me

'ill take what youre willing to give and I'll teach myself to live with a walk on part in a background shot of a movie I'm not in' . This line has become vernacular for explaining when I have low expectations. I love it

  2. m.... o....

I listen to this when I feel lonely,

Now there is a crowd in my brain

    But I'm still alone😢

  3. Z.... B....

The dude ranch alblum is one of my favorite blink alblums but the names of the songs are so weird

  4. C.... S....

By far one of THE BEST blink songs!

  5. J.... H....

Only their 2nd big album and tired of punk rock bands. Yet they went on to create many more albums and make millions of more dollars. Lmfao

  6. P.... B....

    1:59 problematic

    P.... B....

nah man no problem on that is just words now bullets or a dager

    P.... B....

    @Memory Lane It's the "R" word

    P.... B....

@Paul Bellini really retarded is just a word

The only kind I’ve ever used.

  8. A.... W....

    ‼‼‼‼‼‼‼

  9. A.... ....

i think for a lot of fans this album is the goat

  10. Z.... B....

This song sounds good but the name is stupid

  11. L.... t....

    Nelward

  12. L.... S....

Who's here after hearing Strange Love? 2019 anyone?

  13. S.... s....

    Best blink song ever

  14. D.... O....

"You know that it meant EVERYTHING to me."
That ages-old desire to give a fuck about being alive.
To transcend the dull mediocrity of the desperate pursuit of comfort and normalcy,
And fulfill the somewhat rare, but still natural, drive to be fully human.
For 3 dudes with generically decent talent, and eventually one (Travis) with much better than average talent, and the lot of them with more soul and positive attitude than they knew what to do with,
    Blink-182 kicked ass!

A boring old 43-year-old's reflection on the great music of our lives :)

  15. M.... A....

    Punk rock not die..182 forever👆👍

  16. M.... S....

    sweet, sweet teenagehod ^^

    M.... S....

Being a teenager fucking sucks ass.
    Fuck school.
    Fuck homework.
Fuck aging boring parents that think new furniture, or new windows and doors, or new wallpaper and 'Authentic Hardwood Flooring' is somehow "Important".
    Fuck drudgery and poverty.
Fuck parents asking you "if you have any homework".
    Fuck school.
Fuck being old enough to drive, and join the MILITARY, but being trated like a brain-damaged infant by your parents and teachers, just because you're still technically school-aged.
FUCK not even being old enough for WELFARE, despite being a young ADULT living in poverty and living in PRISON (School) for a crime you never committed.
    Fuck school.

Seriously kids, fuck being a teenager, because you're wasting your lives despite being at the PEAK of your lives.

--A 43 year old reflecting on the hell of being in the prime of his life.

    P.S. Blink-182 rocks.

    M.... S....

@Devil's Offspring Nah, mate, it just that you had a shitty teenage life and are bitter about it even twenty-something years after.
Chill, take a deep breath and realize that teenagehood is for most people the best time of their life.

I'm sorry that you felt that way, but it's good that you enjoy being alive now.

  17. S.... P....

I don't gave a shit then, and now either. Don't label a band's sound because that's what the mainstream media tells you to do.

    S.... P....

The fat, old, wealthy white men of Mainstream Media (TM) got on the radio one day and told me that I should pay money for a Blink-182 album because it would help to make the more rich.
That's what I did more than two decades ago, and the music was GOOD. So, I'm really, really glad I listened to what the fat, old, wealthy white men of Mainstream Media told me to do.
BTW fuck your pretentious elitism, this shit is really old now and has been available on CD and even cassette tape for many, *many* years. ;)

    S.... P....

@Devil's Offspring you definitely got my message wrong, pal. I meant they got pigeonholed in all that pop punk shit after Enema but to me they were the same boys from Dude Ranch and a rad new drummer. They still had the punk there.

    S.... P....

@Stvrgazin Paroxysm Still not too sure what you're getting at. They've always been a pop-punk/pop-rock band, Blink-182 never sounded like Black Flag :)
Nobody ever pigeonholed them. It's what they always did. They did it rather well, and more importantly, they did it at the right time to have major commercial success, so they don't have to be 45 or 50 years old and pumping gas or flipping burgies.

    S.... P....

@Devil's Offspring Why you have to sound like Black Flag to be punk to begin with? That's bullshit

  18. P.... ....

    (you're welcome <3 )

  19. I.... P....

the snare on this album is maybe my favourite of all time. The drums in general sound amazing for some reason

    I.... P....

It's the remarkable talent of Mr. Scott Rayor.
He's become a cultural icon because of his unique ability to suck, but make it sound like he didn't worry about it too much, so neither should you, and just do what he did at the time--rock the fuck out :)

  20. .... ....

    I didn't. Mean to.

    .... ....

    Play bass.
    In the Intro.

    But Sometimes,
    The hardest,
    Part of,
    a Blink song,
    Is the bass line.

When you only play three notes,
And can't yet count to four
    The start was something good...

But some potentially good musicians just play bass ;)

  21. b.... b....

    This is frickin radical dude

  23. S.... M....

Best era of blink is 95 to 99, Scott was a better suit ( not drummmer) to blink than Travis, Pathetic is blinks best song, this is their most underrated song alongside anthem :D

Stormtrooper Punk Rock song, check it out a tribute song to Blink 182 some mega fan had made check it out.

  38. W.... ....

    This song turned 20 today.

  39. S.... 5....

I love blink but didn't really like them after this yes their songs were still good but after this they attracted a lot of posers who pretty much messed up pop punk and made it one of the most hated genres

    S.... 5....

DAVID GARZA well that's exactly who they are now with California era, posers

    S.... 5....

Same 5 wrong the posers started with dude ranch era.

    S.... 5....

I lived through middle school, high school, hearing people talk about “poser” this and “poser” that. How about just listen to what you like? I remember having Weezer’s blue album and the Cheshire Cat album in my back pack and got made fun for weeks. I got called, “instapunk, poser” for having those two albums. People are stupid.

    An unpopular opinion:
    Scott > Travis

    D.... ....

    Don't forget Dammit

    D.... ....

They‘ve got sooo many best songs and this album is full of them...

    D.... ....

    Always is their best song

  59. S.... ....

*NOT A TROLL* Is it me or in dude ranch Scott Raynor always does that same drum beat?

    S.... ....

+Liam Merrigan it was. their music as the time worked for that style

    S.... ....

    +1cexman he left for school

    S.... ....

I have no doubt that there was tension between Scott and Mark & Tom due to creative/musical differences. Scott was a metal kid, Mark & Tom were punk kids. It was never going to work out in the long run, as Scott's heart would never have been 100% in it. I think Mark & Tom probably used "Scott's drinking" as an easy way to get rid of him quickly and get Travis in to take the band to the next level. Scott never really fit in.

    S.... ....

    D beats man

    S.... ....

@The Real Grey Poupon they are D beats but man it's funny to see "d beat" on blink 182 comments section hahaha

  60. J.... G....

i felt the relationship anguish along with these songs long before i'd ever been anywhere near a relationship. Pre-teen feels.

    J.... G....

+John Gosselin the worst part is when you start to actually relate to the situations of the songs

  64. J.... I....

I love how honest this whole album is, and I love how this song seems so genuine. The rest of blonks albums just feel like meal tickets in the form of poop jokes.

  65. H.... ....

  75. M.... ....

  76. J.... O....

Between all of us loyal fans, i believe we truly can track down the 3 people that disliked this song and thoroughly interrogate them... or destroy them !

    WHICH EVER COMES FIRST

  77. J.... ....

If blink wasn't popular people would be calling them punk.. I give zero fucks as long as its good. I listen to Rancid, pennywise, and Nofx too but i always need my daily Blink.

    J.... ....

I consider them punk. No matter how popular they became.

  78. T.... ....

you couldn't have said it better! I was class of 2000...

  79. A.... S....

You described old Tom and new Tom

  80. d.... ....

There is no way blink can get better than this, the best album of the 182.

  81. t.... ....

amen. to me, their greatest song. just beautifully crafted.

  82. b.... ....

How was this song not a hit??

  83. b.... ....

This song and Blink defined my high school experience. 12 years later I still know all the lyrics to the songs from the first 4 CDs that defined my life

  84. Z.... D....

the old offspring (debut album, ignition, smash) were very punk. then theres bands like against all authority and title fight, but there not as well known.

  85. t.... ....

    oh and Cerebral Ballzy
    the Bad Brains
    social distortion
    screeching Weasel

and those are all I can come up with off the top of my head but I'm sure if I researched I could find more...

  86. t.... ....

    Rancid
    the Casualties
    Lagwagon
    the Bouncing Souls

  87. y.... ....

    ANTI FLAG
    NOFX
    BAD RELIGION
    PENNYWISE
    RISE AGAINST

aand i can't think of anymore punk rock bands still intact :/

  88. N.... ....

i just wish Scott Raynor and 1997 back man

  89. l.... o....

I prefer Travis Barker over Scott Raynor. Don't get me wrong they're both great but Scott's beats sounded the same in just about every song.

  90. b.... 2....

There's plenty of "true" punk bands out there and there's new ones being made everyday. They're just back in the underground where they originally came from.

  91. b.... 2....

    No prob! :)

  92. b.... 2....

Scott is actually currently involved with a charity called Stand Up for Kids that reaches out to teach homeless and troubled kids the value of music by giving them lessons, bringing them to live shows, etc. It's true, he had drinking problems back then, but he stopped shortly after he was cut from the band, then went on to rehab and eventually college. I'm not sure if he finished yet, but there are recent videos of him on youtube that show him playing in the band Fantastica Bastidas.

  93. b.... 2....

Man, if I ever form a band we will NEVER claim it to be punk band. Too many retards are going to be arguing about whether our music is punk or not and will totally miss the messages of the songs we'll make.

    b.... 2....

The fact of a band's sound or genre is that always the mainstream media will label your band departing from your band's style origins/influences. Look at My Chemical Romance, they considered themselves as a rock band, but the massive media insists that they are "emo", so the people get brainwashed and stays with that imagery.

  94. o.... ....

admittedly I'm not as big fan of blink as i use to be despite having every album and a few rare records that once use to be my pride and joy but this is actually such a good album in both blinks album history ( most of em r good ) and in terms of music in general

  95. H.... H....

    BULL BALLS
