I have no doubt that there was tension between Scott and Mark & Tom due to creative/musical differences. Scott was a metal kid, Mark & Tom were punk kids. It was never going to work out in the long run, as Scott's heart would never have been 100% in it. I think Mark & Tom probably used "Scott's drinking" as an easy way to get rid of him quickly and get Travis in to take the band to the next level. Scott never really fit in.

I prefer Travis Barker over Scott Raynor. Don't get me wrong they're both great but Scott's beats sounded the same in just about every song.

There's plenty of "true" punk bands out there and there's new ones being made everyday. They're just back in the underground where they originally came from.

Scott is actually currently involved with a charity called Stand Up for Kids that reaches out to teach homeless and troubled kids the value of music by giving them lessons, bringing them to live shows, etc. It's true, he had drinking problems back then, but he stopped shortly after he was cut from the band, then went on to rehab and eventually college. I'm not sure if he finished yet, but there are recent videos of him on youtube that show him playing in the band Fantastica Bastidas.

Man, if I ever form a band we will NEVER claim it to be punk band. Too many retards are going to be arguing about whether our music is punk or not and will totally miss the messages of the songs we'll make.

The fact of a band's sound or genre is that always the mainstream media will label your band departing from your band's style origins/influences. Look at My Chemical Romance, they considered themselves as a rock band, but the massive media insists that they are "emo", so the people get brainwashed and stays with that imagery.

admittedly I'm not as big fan of blink as i use to be despite having every album and a few rare records that once use to be my pride and joy but this is actually such a good album in both blinks album history ( most of em r good ) and in terms of music in general
