the reason I felt to message, is actually... I'm not sure what to call it... i took the time to really listen to your lyrics of "Dance With My Daughter", and I wanted to say please, please dance with your daughters every single chance you get.
The reason I say this is because I'm 34 now, I never really had any chance to dance with my father that I can remember. He doesnt take the time to call, check up on me... my father isn't someone who's in my life and a girl can only try so many times before theres no longer is a reason for trying. my father abandoned me. and standing in such a wide space of people and not knowing a single face in the crowd your words touched me to the point of crying. My 5-year-old daughter and I just had a Daddy-Daughter Dance at her school. For two weeks she kept a calendar in her bed, and every night before she went to sleep she would cross out another day on the calendar, waiting excitedly for the Daddy-Daughter Dance. Tonight was the Daddy-Daughter Dance, and this was the first slow song they played. I'd never heard the song before. She was standing on my feet as we danced, and in the middle of the song she looked up at me and said, verbatim, "I can't believe this is happening." I don't cry easily, but Jesus did that get me. I'm even crying right now while typing this, just thinking about it. It was such a beautiful moment, and I had to look this song up. Thank you, Jason Blaine.
