Blackmore's Night - Street Of Dreams (with Joe Lynn Turner) Lyrics

I heard the sound of voices in the night
Spellbound there was someone calling
I looked around no one was in sight
Pulled down I just kept on falling
I've seen this place before
You were standing by my side
I've seen your face before tonight
Maybe I just see what I want it to be
I know it's a mystery

Do you remember me on a street of dreams
Running through my memory
On the street of dreams

There you stood a distant memory
So good like we never parted
Said to myself I knew you'd set me free
But here we are right back where we started
Some thing's come over me
And I don't know what to feel
Maybe this fantasy is real
Now I know I see what I want it to be
But it's still a mystery

Do you remember me on the street of dreams
Running through my memory
On the street of dreams

Something's come over me
And I don't know what to feel
Maybe this fantasy is real
Now I know I see what I want it to be
But it's still a mystery

Do you remember me on the street of dreams
Running through my memory
On the street of dreams
You are on every face I see
On the street of dreams

  8. J.... ....

Best version of this song! Great!

  9. T.... L....

This is high level musical artistry. A smooth chugging beat, nice soulful duet, and two guitar solos from Ritchie to give it some bite fir contrast. Well done.

  10. A.... ....

Joe's voice always amazing, fits well with Candice

  11. l.... ....

A perfect example of what makes Ritchie a legend are his subtle fills, like between 2:58 and 3:02. So understated and restrained that you would miss them if you weren’t listening carefully, but when you do hear them they’re so perfectly placed and harmonious that they make you want to weep.

  12. N.... L....

    Candice Ritchie medievales muy bueno

  13. 3.... ....

Anton figg rocks it on the drums

song is so much better with Joe Lynn singing. It is too bad that Ritchie didn't include Joe in Rainbow's latest incarnation. HUGE mistake

  21. A.... V....

This song always reminded me of a lost love that is still a mystery.

  22. E.... A....

Ritchie is a legendary musician and songwriter. Everything he touches turns to gold!

    E.... A....

Joe and Candice sound great together.

    r.... T....

    They do, like this version

  26. z.... ....

I don't care for much of the Blackmore-Night stuff, but this definitely belongs on a "Best of" Album

  27. J.... H....

Never knew this existed, cool to hear them in a more recent version.

  28. F.... ....

This is actually better than the original (and that takes some doing!).

  29. T.... C....

The instrumentals on this are better than the original.

  30. R.... L....

Mark, agree with you 100%. Thanks Bro.

  31. j.... r....

Quite a nice version Joe still sounds good, always loved rainbow to me Ronnie and Ritchie where untouchable.Look what purple where doing at same time nothing like this.

  32. d.... d....

beautiful solo, blackmore is art, simple as that

  33. t.... ....

great cover of a geat song!

  34. M.... B....

I have loved Blackmores Knight since it was launched, but I'm kind of a purist. I prefer the Rainbow Original though this is Awesome as well. Utah, U.S.A

    M.... B....

@Mark Birchette " I have loved Blackmores Knight since it was launched "
But you can't spell the band's name correctly.

    M.... B....

@Jack Spratt It's actually a common misspelling, due to the style of music they play (well, I guess that's why?) - just like a lot of Americans spell Candice as 'Candace', for some reason...

    M.... B....

@Jack Spratt I did it on purpose, but I guess only a true fan would get that !!!! Peace

    M.... B....

@Mark Birchette couldnt agree more well said

    M.... B....

Because they play medieval music and people wear knights armour Mr. Pell and that mooronic troll.

  35. S.... B....

    Love this sounding great here!!!

  36. R.... V....

this song gave me chills stunning, the lamp gave more meaning, do you remember me on a street of dream seens like Thayer Kindred spirit same space but different time they can only meet in dreams  a street of dreams

  37. D.... M....

    RITORNA ...LONG LIFE ROCK ...ROLL

  41. E.... D....

    E.... D....

Ed Condon, and the best years of our lives!

  42. P.... ....

    1:56 - 2:03... just...

    P.... ....

This is Joe Lynn Turner again proving why he is a legendary professional! Harmonizing does not have to double the lyrics. 👍

  43. l.... ....

Candice Night sings and looks like an angel. Not fair, Ritchie. Monster guitar player and then meet a woman like her. Lucky bastard. Beautiful song, but Rainbow's version is the shit.

    l.... ....

    larreey ,rainbow'version is divine

    l.... ....

    She's a goddess

  44. E.... ....

great song ...brilliant harmony .......nuff said

  45. o.... ....

This takes me instantly back to highschool in the early 80's.  Ritchie is so good. Listen to that guitar'

  46. J.... D....

    Everlasting song.

  47. m.... z....

    oh! great!

  48. M.... C....

    Truly an awesome song!

  49. L.... ....

    I so LOVE this <3

  50. J.... C....

    Not bad....first time I have heard them...nice....

  51. E.... W....

Het Lew Street of Dreams was on 1983's Bent Out Of Shape

  52. K.... M....

You're suggesting that Ritchie Blackmore's band should have consulted the Bee Gees. That's what you're saying, correct? I just want to make sure I understand. OK, now that that's settled, please step into my office. "Why?" you ask... BECAUSE YOU'RE FUCKEN FIRED!!!

  53. M.... ....

I agree. Much like Lindsey Buckingham, age/experience has added a richness to his voice. I wish he would join them more often. This is a perfect pairing.

  54. C.... P....

What a woman this singer is!

  55. N.... S....

Nice version duet and guitar solo.

  56. S.... ....

I love the original, but this song sounds GREAT, and just as valid, as a duet. I wasn't even aware until now that this version existed. Thanks for posting!

  57. g.... ....

My thoughts exactly. Why hasn't this version of that great song been released as a single. It would stand up wonderfully against songs on pop stations today.

  58. g.... ....

They should release this as a single again. It is a great song, and different enough from the original 30 years ago, that it would most surely find a while new audience. Great version of a fantastic Blackmore song.

  59. S.... ....

I think it's meant to be like that and, in my opinion, it works.

Also, no Blackmore's Night song should ever sound like the Bee Gees - the sort of inspiration they should take is 1975 - 1987 era Fleetwood Mac!

  60. j.... ....

This would have been brilliant if not for the timing of the voices being slightly off in the chorus line. They should have consulted Bee Gees music on that one.

  61. N.... K....

Great. Much better than the original... (y)

  62. R.... W....

the perfect reinvention of a classic

  63. B.... F....

GREAT GREAT song done in the most perfect way.
This is the way Ritchie should go. Even when he is 85 years old he will beat the rest of 6-strings players.

  64. M.... ....

It is the purest crime against the mankind such a low number of views of this lovely song performed in such a wonderful way.

  65. S.... R....

    a guilty pleasure

  66. 3.... ....

    ..for sure, killer!

  67. a.... ....

Joe Lynn Turner was born Joseph Linquito in Hackensack, NJ. He does not have a Southern drawl. He had to sing appropriately for this version, as it is not Rainbow, but Blackmore's Night.

  68. S.... ....

Why not? They have done several Deep Purple and Rainbow covers, both in studio versions and live.
I think this duet version is better than the 'Candice solo' version on the standard album, and a nice treat!

    S.... ....

Agree and mayby better than the original Rainbow versjon too

  69. R.... H....

Wow. Not what I expected from Blackmores Night

  70. J.... Q....

Yeah ...that's Joe Lynn Turner, he's a little older and his southern draw is coming through a little stronger. If you've seen him in his latter years you wouldn't believe how deteriorated his voice has become, sad but true.

  71. 3.... ....

.. Awesome version .. Anton Figg nails it on the drums making this special.

  72. G.... ....

because most of us americans are idiots

  73. B.... M....

    siiiiii suena muy bien!!!!

  74. J.... S....

Man what a killer tune! still good from the 80's.. Both versions nail it. !

  75. H.... B....

This is better than the original by Rainbow

  76. t.... ....

NO, I disagree - -his voice has deteriorated considerably since the original version!

  77. d.... ....

the duet is better than the Candice only version, but I still prefer the original.

  78. L.... S....

Totally agree, doesn't sound like Joe at all. Nice version anyhow though.

  79. l.... R....

    this song is beautiful!!

  80. S.... ....

I think his voice has 'improved with age'!

  81. S.... S....

    great cover

  82. N.... K....

This song gives me goose bumps. Thanks Joe Lynn Turner, Richie Blackmore and Candice Night!

  83. R.... L....

    Amazing Guitar work.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Roby

  84. P.... ....

This is so amazing! Thanks for posting this :D

  85. K.... P....

    This is a great cover.

  86. A.... G....

it dos sound better as a duet.

  87. a.... ....

    Perhaps my favorite song ever.<3

  88. S.... ....

@nessadavis71 The world does not revolve around iTunes!
It is a bonus track on the Import *CD* {remember them?!}, along with a solo song from Candice 'Call It Love' {re-recorded for "Reflections"}.

  89. N.... D....

This version, the duet is NOT on the album because i can't get it on iTunes

    N.... D....

It's a Bonus Track from Village Laterne.

  90. j.... ....

@SilverWolfMoon 'Candace' is the spelling with which most of us Yanks are familiar. I stand corrected.

  91. S.... ....

@justinlwerner Why do all the Americans call her 'Candace'?! {I've come across several who do this}. It's 'Candice'.

  92. j.... ....

Love it. I like the Candace-only version, as well, for different reasons. Great song, great performance.

  93. S.... ....

@TALANISEFRA It's not meant to be...

  94. T.... ....

    nothing like the original...

  95. S.... ....

    Me encanta :$

  96. 2.... ....

Joe still has the golden voice!

  97. F.... A....

What a spine-tingler! Blackmore's Night, lovely as always.

  98. 3.... ....

To a special Lady, Leila you will always be on my street of dreams. And should we ever meet again I wonder if you will remember me. ...I think so.

  99. K.... ....

Although I prefer the original this was a really good cover. Thank you for posting this great song.

  100. A.... A....

    awesome,
