Black Star Riders - Tonight The Moonlight Let Me Down Lyrics
We kinda fell apart together
Back in the days of no surrender
Wishing things would only get better
But they never do
I'm always going but I'll never go
I'm always thinking but I'll never know
I'm always running but I'm moving slow
Whatever you've been you were always the one
Whatever you did you should always have done
Wherever you went you should never have gone
I can't wait 'til you come back home
Tonight the moonlight let me down
You're outta sight and you're outta sound
Tonight the moonlight let me down
Do you still remember?
Making out under stormy weather
Wishing it would last forever
But it never does
You're always laughing but you never smile
You're always crying but you never cry
Got all the answers but you're wondering why
Can't win for losing but you gotta try
Whatever you've been you were always the one
Whatever you did you should always have done
Wherever you went you should never have gone
I can't wait 'til you come back home
Tonight the moonlight let me down
I'm still here and you're not around
You're outta sight and you're outta sound
Tonight the moonlight let me down
Tonight the moonlight let me down
I'm still here and you're not around
You're outta sight and you're outta sound
Tonight the moonlight let me down
Tonight the moonlight let me down
Whatever you've been you were always the one
Whatever you did you should always have done
Wherever you went you should never have gone
I can't wait 'til you come back home
Tonight the moonlight let me down
I'm still here and you're not around
You're outta sight and you're outta sound
Tonight the moonlight let me down
Tonight the moonlight let me down
I'm still here and you're not around
You're outta sight and you're outta sound

Black Star Riders Tonight The Moonlight Let Me Down Comments
The main riff in the verse parts has a 'Dedication' feel. Sounds great though.
This song kicks @!× is that a sax back there ?? Nice melody with that. In the harmonies I hear 'we will be strong' among others got the Lizzy blue prints all over it. Love that. Scott Gorham and Ricky Warwick and the bleeding heart boys here have worked their way into my heart as 2 of my favorite artists with their dedication to keep going, keep trying , inventing and more or less helping finish Phil's legacy for him, meanwhile create their own. Scott Gorham and Warwick have gone from unlikely pair to dynamic duo over the course of BSRs chronology.
The new guitarist sound tight as heck with Scott, drums got a nice snapping snare here, enjoying Cranes bass lines more all the time.
Thin Lizzy sound so great!
Moonlight + Sax Solo.... Hmmmmmm......???
They should call their band Fat Elisabeth
Thanks BSR, you make my day 👏👏👏
All the black star riders albums are amazing
This singer sounds much better than that drug addict bum, Phil Lynott. Good stuff!
Let's be honest you only put that comment to get load off comments that's low
@Alan bird I don't know what that means but my comment was sincere.
Wow brings back Thin Lizzy memories .Thank you
Absolutely blinding bsr song🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎧🎧☘☘☘☘.. that sax finish, the icing on thr cake
Wonderful!
Hey I heard Rings of Saturn plagiarized from We Are the End and then when it was pointed out, Nuclear Blast filed a false copyright strike against the YouTuber who poubted out this shady bs.
I love this sound
Holy shit just like Thin Lizzy....
exceptional band.....nice...
Awesome!
oh my man! This song is sick!
Hey Blackstariderers still got the Lizzy touch in this song !!!And it is my favourite of the new album but the rest didn't tell me so much to me I like much more the other BSR albums.Anyway.. Keep On Rockin' !!! Cheers and Life On !!!
Про меня. Straight to the heart. Thank you! \m/
Chorus is a little bit like Jailbreak
Thin🍀🇮🇪☘️Lizzy🤘
Love Scott Gorham playing guitar, so great to see him play in a great band. Seen them on Loreley with RAINBOW an THIN LIZZY (BSR lineup) was the band of the day.
Flipping Bloody Heck, excuse my bad language but what a totally stunning and brilliant track this is, BSRs producing more totally brilliance magic, very great music, very very great stories, very very very great excellent writing, very very very very very singing, Very Very Very Very Very Very great playing by all the boys in this band, all together they make a very very very very very very very very very very excellent band, my Celtic blood brother Ricky & Scott along with Robbie, Chad & Christian Thanks a million boys for this music.
james bradshaw dunno,as much as I like them and Ricky I can't really get into this album, early days though, might be a grower...sort of found myself skipping through the tracks on the first listen which isn't a good thing.
@Mark Brock, I was the same with many of Thin Lizzy albums when I heard them played for the very first times. When I think what my first opinion was I find it impossible to understand how I could have misunderstood such brilliant music
"Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak"... what about something new?
Сергей Дергачев These are two completely different songs. They aren’t similar at all .
I also see no similarities between the 2 songs!
Volbeat vibes.
First time... I love the song
I miss Phil Lynott, but this helps a lot.
Is really great i feel lynot Spirit around .. 10/10
Man i miss Phil too .The way he phrased his lyrics
Sorry ,the way he phrased his lyrics around a melody, so great , Phil Mogg UFO did the same thing .
Phil was a clever one! What an incredible blessing to have his essence etched in Scott's maestro strings. Irish rock and roll is very much alive.
Solid mid '80's style banger here guys, good song to start off the weekend! Brings back memories of crop topped, high-haired babysitters from back in the day when I was a kid!
White stars ftw
Too happy for me.
*Liked and never listened again*
But of course i know a lot of girls that could love this. Nice song
Well done!!!
El tema que más me ha gustado del disco, Scott Gorham sigue rockeando sobre la fuerza de BSR !!

Cracking song guys. Cant wait for the album.
Connor Mcarthur slightly disappointed so far with the album tbh,I like the band and Ricky but the songs on this one all sound a bit similar...so far the title track is the best, maybe a grower after a few listens, pretty short album as well, thinking they maybe missing Damon's input.
Mark Brock im disappointed with the album aswell, its got like a good first half but a pretty boring second one.
This song anyway rocks.
It's great to hear the band get their mojo back after that dull third album.
@Shade45313 There's no memorable licks or riffs whatsoever. It was pretty dull.
@Steven Lornie Testify or say goodbye? Heavy Fire?
Disagree, I love that album..Dancing with the wrong girl, True blue kid, Heavy fire...all the album is fine
Nah dude, this new album sucks donkey arse.Damon Johnson leaving the band broke their neck.
The last album was weaker than the first 2 but still had some quality songs this one sounds like a forgetable Ricky Warwick solo album.
greekfreak1980 slightly disappointed with this new one,I agree they maybe missing Damon's input.
