For me, Born Again is the most important album among Black Sabbath's records. With this album, Sabbath had got out of exclusive world of heavy metal and had reigned over the heavy metal world. I believe Ian Gillan is the best singer of Black Sabbath through their history, not Ozzy or Dio.

It's too heavy and evil for Deep Purple. Yes, songs like Highway Star are pretty heavy, just not on this level. It may sound like Purple because long time Purple singer Ian Gillan is the singer here. He has never sounded anything to being this evil in Purple!

Everything about the idea of Gillan being in Sabbath is wrong, but it’s just awesome. The album has a lot against it- Awful cover and production, questionable lyrics (sometimes), but it’s still fantastic.

I could not believe this album did not get good reviews. This Gillian masterpiece is in my opinion the best black sabbath album of all time! I personally think people who claim to be sabbath fans - who enjoy dark bad ass metal with satanic over tones just cant handle this.... for you so called true sabbath fans with your pentagrams and 666 signs at concerts are light weights. You are simply to scared and week to worship a magnificent master piece that is truly evil scary and real bad ass metal with the perfect voice! DIO awesome..OZZY....scary but not scary enough and could never sing.... to slow on vocals holding the band back....Gillian fast ! evil ineradicable song writer... vocals that can break glass!
