Black Sabbath - Buried Alive Lyrics
Once upon a nightmare
Once upon a time
You're running from temptation
You got lost
And found that you don't
Belong to anybody
You're all the same
Just another number
Cross it out
Whenever you don't behave
Someone got the doctor
He knows what to do
Throw some bones and mumble
The devil's inside of you
It might be contagious
It might change the plan
Get back in your tiny boxes
Even if you can't
We say you can
Join the congregation
Everybody's got to get in line and
We never justify
The choir sings a never-ending lie
[Pre-chorus:]
When you thought you were free
You didn't need a reason
No reason to survive
[Chorus:]
As the big door closes
And you waiting for the nail
Somebody tell the world
You're buried alive
Once upon a nightmare
Once upon a time
You're running from tomorrow
You got lost
And found that another
Day has turned to ashes
Taken by the wind
Frozen seeds of sorrow
Never to begin
Join the celebration
And everybody's got to get in line and
We never justify
The choir sings a never-ending lie
[Pre-chorus:]
When you thought you were free
You did not need a reason
No reason to survive
[Chorus:]
As the big door closes
And you waiting for the mail
Somebody tell the world
You're buried alive
One more nightmare
Just one more time
Join the congregation
Everybody get in line
Celebration
The choir sings a lie
As you call
The hammer falls
And no one hears you cry
I'm buried alive

Black Sabbath Buried Alive Comments
Cool shit. Zero The Hero sped up.
I like it at pitch -3
This is fuckin CHUNKY
one of the best metal albums in the 90's in a grunge world , GREAT ALBUM
The best metal singer of all time
After this, Dio's "Strange Highways" is NEXT!
What guts!
2:37 Fuck you, Vinnie Appice...
Some of the riffs sound like stuff I hear on 13.
Manny Badabing yeah, the last time Tony Iommi sounded inspired was with Dio on The Devil you know.
This song will level a house if you play it loud enough....😠👍😎🤘
Got this album in the 1990.During my lively days. Now 2019 and I'm in my 50. Doing abit better in LIFE..
Brought my own house..relaxing in my sofa looking up at the night sky and thinking of DIO.... .Still listening to his rock SONG.
I'm alive it's alive
....forever...
As the BIG DOOR close
DIO
Dog lives
Angry, heavy, riffy Sabbath....🤤
Devastating. Just devastating. Sledgehammer guitar.....
😠🤘
Fuck man, that riff is so goddamn HEAVY!!! Miss the shit out of you, Dio! You were magic!
Love how vinnie flips the 1 and three of bass drum and snare at the end.
The best and most underrated Black Sabbath album! 😆🤯🤘👹
It's unbelievable. Fucking amazing!
Totally agree with you Eric... pure fuckin class 🤘🤘🤘
A masterpiece album
Lol this sounds so Pantera
Song stuck in head. Had to hear it!
Time Machine is underrated also from Dehumanizer.
My favorite skip..🤘
La voz me suena a dio. Y en este estilo sabbath suena algo trash.
AWESOME RIFF! MUST HEADBANG!
Awesome!!..
Just listened to this album... first time.. im over 35.. wtf! How did i not hearvthid albumvnvrg4heis7eydhdud7e..
Well . Nice 🦄🎖⚘
Dio for ever!
Play this at 1.5x and you have Pantera.
Imagine a "Dimebag/Geezer Project"...!!!!!
Omg! Thanks, it's become something else.
HAHAHAHA!!! No Shet!!! Awesome!
Clearly you've missed the point of this version of Sabbath.
I love Pantera but....
The shit.
Fucking "doom" song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only Dio could put an amazing melody over a riff that chromatic.
The riffs of Hell... Iommi is God!!!
this is one of the albums you can leave in your car stereo for days, weeks, months and never get bored, not one weak song on it, I really liked this BS line up, brilliant!!
martanmart .AMEN🤘🤘🤘

i love how Vinnie Appice can play out of sync and still make it sound good :)
Farnael75 It may seem out of sync, but the beat is on the snare, and he's doing some crazy fills on the "and" between each beat. Count 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and with the snare drum. You'll see it's solid as a rock. He is amazing.
yes, when support riffs and vocals with snare and beats, it can be good. but vinnie's style can be boring sometimes with just rythim and monoton beats.
Furkan D. No way. Vinnie is never boring. Ever!
I mean not him, his style, sometimes. He's solid drummer, he beats the drum kit his stick but sometimes flushy style may need :/
@earthaltar Drummer here, Vinnies work on this is amazing
the way it starts it reminds me of AIC. god this song is so good, TI riff is delicious.
throw some bones and mumble
todo este disco es brutal, uno de mis favoritos \\m//
this album is really a great album
Too much heavy....!
Am I the only person that hears the "Zero the Hero" riff in this song?
Yeah. I've noticed many similarities as between Snowblind and Letters from Earth...
And between self-title track and After All :)
Similar but not the same notes.
Both songs have a commonality: they are both amongst Black Sabbath's best.
oh hell yes!!
Jasta did a fantastic cover of this
Hell yes!
F***in' heavy Sabbath tune... Real timeless one... I despised that album back in the day but now see it quite differently. Dehumanizer was huge and uncompromisedly brutal & heavy!
Pure stompin' doom metal.
love the lyrics......and this is my fav. album with bs,because ozzy's not singing:)
I have never listened to Sabbath outside of the Ozzy years before tonight, but god dammit this is amazing!
The 3 albums with Dio were absolute classics, Headless Cross with Tony Martin was pretty great too, but his others weren't up to par. The albums with Ian Gillan and Glen Hughes though... woof.
@farfromfields Born Again great Song.
Man...then you were blind before that night.
This song is almost as good as Sabbath bloody Sabbath
Luke Rhodig better then with ozzy
Lol i've been looking for the song that this reminds me of for so long.
and Dio is American...more evil by default
Crucify him now!!!! oh..wait.....Alice in Chains fucking rule, nevermind, spare his life. ;)
don't crucify me for sayin this, but this really reminds me of AIC for some reason
Thanos700 holy shit I thought the same thing, especially how it starts off. Black sabbath is definitely an influence on them
@soakedbearrd WHYY??? THIS IS SO FAR FROM AIC!
Epic bass lines on this album !!! tune low, face amps to the floor and shake the world !
@Rockstar7179 Dio is melodic and Ozzy is Original so whatever you like
I like Ozzy a lot but I think Dio is a better vocalist than him and he's a better fit in Black Sabbath, then Ozzy.
The best solo on Dehumanizer album!
pump up the volume
This song sounds like it would be playing when your waiting to enter Hell. Fucking heavy song! I love this album
@dimevision85 You don't know me fool. Its easy to talk shit here.play that shit in my face.
CRUSHING!!
"Dehumanizer" is a killer album all around, and one of my biggest and best memories of the summer of 1992!!
my first black sab record.cant listen to the older shit.i hate ozzy...sry.just being honest
blaztradiouz666 Not a fan of Ozzy either, but the doomy sound on many Sabbath albums with Ozzy is amazing.
I think this is the best sabbath album or at least one of the best next to paranoid, heaven and hell, headless cross...those no ozzy albums are so unrated...much better than some others
i found this cd when i was like 10 in my dads glove box and listen to it and i was amazed i asked who sang in this album because at the time i knew black sabbath as ozzy
he said the great DIO!!!!
The riff sounds like a mixture of the main riff of "Zero the hero" and the hard riff at the end of "sabbath bloody sabbath". I´m a big fan of Sabbath and Toni Iommi, especially the old stuff, but Dehumanizer is great.
the first time I heard this it reminded me of the riff from Zero The Hero but its still a great song.
that would be a badass opener.
One Of Black Sabbaths Best Songs of all time so dam heavy so dam good so dam powerfull in geezers bass sound iommis riffs appices drumming and dios vocals fucking brilliant.
the solo at the end is cool
