Black Label Society - Helpless Lyrics

There is a town in North, Ontario
With dream comfort memory spare
And in my mind I still need a place to go
All my changes were there

[Chorus:]
Blue, blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
Big birds flying across the sky
Throwing shadows on our eyes
Leaves us helpless, helpless, helpless
Leaves us helpless, helpless, helpless

Baby, can you hear me now?
The chains are locked and tied
Across the door
Baby, sing with me somehow
Helpless, helpless, helpless
Leaves us helpless, helpless, helpless
Helpless, helpless, helpless
Leaves us helpless, helpless, helpless

[Chorus]

Helpless, helpless, helpless
Leaves us helpless, helpless, helpless

There is a town in North, Ontario
With dream comfort memory spare
And in my mind I still need a place to go
All my changes were there

Black Label Society Helpless Comments
  1. Jacob Gros

Zakk Wylde is a fucking human jukebox. He can do so many different things musically. He is so under appreciated by the masses.

sometimes I feel so out of place and I want to run away from everything , but then I realise no matter what I do its gonna come back to me , I wish I wasnt here.

This is two years later it looks like. I hope things are better. Forgive me, but were these your feelings or some lyrics, or both? Was jus thinking these would be great lyrics for a song. Jus don't live out your lyrics please lol. Hope things got better. peace.

    made me cry....

  10. wheelinthesky300

Would be better if it had a single vocal track for the verses.
I don't think that's two singers, but one voice doubled or tripled.

  11. Mark Bakarich

It's ok but pretty sterile when compared to say the version on "Last Waltz" it's sincere but doesn't really add anything to the song.

  12. Wastelander1972

    Good question...

  13. Dan Boone

The post of Johnny Cash and Zakk covers are 100% right, I forgot who sang this song after hearing Zakks version, but how can yu compare crap like Neil Young to this?

    Irish McBeatymywife

How can you call Neil Young crap? I didn’t know you were an established musician like Young as well? Maybe you should rethink your take on Neil Young, he is the godfather of grunge for fuck sakes! I hope to hell you’re not Canadian!

  14. Blade Martin

zakk wylde is the johnny cash of metal if he covers a song it's his

  15. Kaya Roots Belle

    1 dislike?? ¬¬

  16. TheTmg666

I agree with your dislike for Minaj. However, I think that Nickleback is essentially void of skill. I've disliked them since they came out. They're douchebags. Zakk is a king of guitar, piano, and has some rockin' vocal skills. Nickleback is nowhere near this good.

  17. TheTmg666

I've been listening to Zakk for years. I've seen him play 7 times. I have never heard this cover before, and it is beautiful.

  18. TheTmg666

You should've told him to shoot Nickelback as well.

  19. Nick Fuller

the 1 person that disliked this is helpless

  20. antibullshit

    Cool, dude.

  21. antibullshit

My too. I was born in the Lumber town of Pembroke, Ont. I lived there until age 17, at which time I moved to Belleville, now I live in Toronto. Canada is the best place to live, unfortunately it still doesn't support Canadian talent. Anyway, always wear your tuque when it's cold, drink plenty of Tim Horton's coffee, and blast RUSH as much as possible. And if you get a chance, shoot Harper. G'day...

@viictoor96 Neil Young wrote Helpless in 1969, four years before Bob Dylan wrote Knockin' on Heaven's Door in 1973.

  24. Victor Lima

uh, did somebody say "knocking on heaven's door"?

  25. Mike Lectric

    Love this album!

  26. machineheadfan1992
