Amazing how one song can have so many different stories . I can remember exactly how I was feeling the first time I heard this song , and still feel the same every time I hear it .

What it's like to love someone and lose them over and over again. Every time they end up with someone else, who could never love her like you do. So you wait for her to realize it and wait for her to come back. All the time knowing that deep down you hope she finds someone that truly makes her happy the way you do and she gets that happily ever after she wants so badly, even if it's not with you.... just because you love her. Its been 3 years since then but this song takes me right to that exact moment, and I thank the black keys for this feeling.

I remember listening to this song on my way to class back in 2013, it was also the day I attempted suicide. 4 years later, after not much progress, im still suicidal. Only difference now, a few of my loved ones have passed on and this time i dont have much going on for me.

I didnt mean to be a drag. Sometimes id listen to this song to get some brief comfort and it takes the pain away, even just for a lil while. Tbh idk how long im gonna stay alive for but i'll try.

PirateRadioDude I understand because I too have dealt with depression and suicidal attempts. You can overcome it you just need someone that can relate and talk to. I can be that person if you are ok with it.

It was this song our lives were built on. It was this song I hear when I think of him holding me through the pain, in my bed under the window so I could see the stars and the full moon. It was this song he let me listen to for hours on repeat, until I was ok, until he knew I was ok.
It makes me smile.
