Saw these guys so many times, and I loved this era of the band.  Particularly memorable show at Skateway 9 in Marlboro, NJ (gone now), it was fucking amazing.  Still a fan of Rollins today - brings back great memories!

I’ve always seen the connection between Black Flags influence within Superjoint. I was excited to hear Rats Eyes played really loud before Superjoint hit stage as well.

I heard it before Phil and the illegals, awesome pumped up loud !

Was it at the seattle show? I suffered the same problem. Phil came out and was singing along while it played through the speakers

Now I can see these guys influence on Nirvana.

Fuck yeah

it's as if there is two types of people who enjoy Black Flag. Those who are totally tone def and have no clue. Then those that fucking actually get it. I feel people "like" Black Flag for the wrong reasons. Greg Ginn is black flag, He knew the fucking guitar brilliantly.

the drum and the bass are really important too, you can clearly hear every instrument

I love the doom-laden, sinister, plodding sludge rock of this period of Black Flag as much as the early, fast and furious punk. As long as Greg Ginn is playing guitar.

@Marc Fedak I pretty prefer the rollins era flag. I think others band can plays better fast punk, the sludgy and heavy tone of this era of black flag is something unique for me :)

They still maintained that old sea shanty style in some of their newer songs.
