Black Country Communion - Medusa Lyrics

You're bound to think that
I'm on the shore
From a sea that never came
There's no time to find the time
I've done what has to be done
Voices call the nameless one
Crying all of the time
Tales of no one in my sleep
Stepping out into the night

But you said you saw Medusa
The one with the head of fire
The legend of Medusa Lies in
The devil's eyes

I've got myself to blame
Through talking to your brother
Too late to say I'll stay
Too late to say I'll bother
Take out your thorn and speak
Afraid you are to keep
Flailling forces fail
Now wake before you sleep

You said you saw Medusa
Looking down on you
But the legend of Medusa
Soon be with you

You're bound to think I'm on
the shore
From a sea that almost came
There's no time to find the time
I've done what has to be done
I've done what has to be done
I've done what has to be done
I have done
I have done
I have done
Take a good look at my face

Black Country Communion Medusa Comments
  1. J.... V....

Thought this band was an African American Country band when I first heard about them.

  2. M.... N....

Gary more sounds like glenn Nuff said

This is AMAZING! What a way to bring Trapeze material to a new generation! Of course nothing will ever top the original, but that's not the point. These songs will continue to live on cos we still have Glenn Hughes with us, and God bless him for all he has done over the years! Glenn wanted a new generation of fans to appreciate where he came from, and he's done a helluva job in doing this! Thank you, Glenn!

    L.... B....

Lucy Barton the song sounded very ahead of its time then and now it feels perfect

    L.... B....

I saw trapeze in late '71, just after I turned 14. it was the most bizarre lineup you could imagine ha! Ha! JTrapeze, Marshall Ticker Band
    & headliner, Billy Joei.!!!!!!!!!on

  7. Z.... B....

Boring, monotonous compositions brightened sometimes guitar solo..

  8. i.... c....

    malisimo

  9. z.... ....

hmmmm…. the guitars here, tone and playing, don't do Mel justice. The orig main riff is way more staccato and had more feel. This is just a lukewarm sterile attempt. The solo is just a bunch of rambling and typewriter poop. Kinda like a weak Frank Marino…. Vocals are the best thing about this remake

  10. A.... Y....

Супер группа Black Country Communion, исполняет  классический трек  с одноименного альбома  Trapeze (1970), группы в которой Хьюз играл до вхождения в состав Deep Purple...

    A.... Y....

Хьюз оказался очень крепким стариком - увереннно возглавляет Бонэма и Бонамассу.

    A.... Y....

@Gregory Seregin  Есть такое выражение - проклятие  супергрупп. Это когда не выдержав груза колоссальной ответственности и давления , они не оправдывают возложенных на них надежд, и распадаются...

    A.... Y....

Какая супергруппа по-Вашему, не попала под проклятие? На мой взгляд - Travelling Wilburis.

    A.... Y....

@Gregory Seregin  Да пожалуй, зато Cream и Blind Faith  в полной мере показали  проблемы супергрупп... Те же  Black Country  Communion распались в 2013г просуществовав  4 года.

  11. m.... b....

    still listening ...still good

  12. J.... ....

Don´t forget Sherinian, he did a great job too in this band

  18. N.... S....

    Trapeze <3

  19. D.... ....

Strictly opinion in the same way that Rival Sons does nothing for Me, but I love BCC.

  20. p.... ....

Right now the split is basically rumor. They are working out the issues as we speak.

  21. G.... B....

Glenn should get another guitarist in if Bonamassa doesn't want to do it anymore

  22. T.... S....

    Wow... this is excellent! \m/

  23. m.... ....

  31. m.... ....

The best old Trapeze song brought to in the 2010s by BCC.....What a blessing....

  32. g.... d....

They have done what had to be done who is going to follow in the footsteps. Time to pick up your guitar and PLAYY!!!

  33. z.... ....

with all the power this version has it almost outshines the original, almost.. love it, but Mel Galley just brought a little more to the table....

  34. 1.... ....

Of course I am high...I am a fan of Glenn Hughes not GH himself...Never post while high...

  35. 1.... ....

Yeah, I am Glenn Hughes from the early Trapeze days of the 70's...I met the late Mel Galley and Holland backstage at a concert in La. during the post-GH years...They were still a fucking hot band...Miss ya Mel..Glad to have GH out of his post dusted interlude...BCC RULES!!!

  36. X.... ....

    s'okay. Liked the original better.

  37. g.... ....

@jenlovesyou6 Its not hard really in retrospect considering the shit competition out there in the last ten years. Still i agree with all your comment's and they are awesome, Jason in particular is a talented guy.

  38. p.... ....

@TheKlov40. My mistake thanks for correcting me.

  39. A.... W....

This rocks, Miss ya Mel Galley............

  40. T.... ....

    @paulwall1981 Ummm, Glenn Hughes.

  41. b.... ....

    Thats GLENN HUGHES

  42. p.... ....

Joe Bonnamassa, Jason Bonham, Jeff Hughes and Derek Sheridian. Four of the most tlanted music makers that ever drew breath and this album is proof. Amazing stuff.

  43. 1.... ....

Man I fell in love with this song when it first came out in the early 70s...Everybody was into Trapeze in my little part of Louisiana. "Medusa" and "You are the music" where some of my favorite LPs...Recorded them on my home cassette deck and played them in my car deck...Cruising down the streets, drinking and smoking hash...getting decked...I love this band...

  44. j.... ....

Medusa, esta música é muito boa!!!

  45. M.... ....

and if you want to hear him at his best listen to BLACK CLOUD by TRAPEZE

  46. M.... ....

almost as good as the original when he was with Trapeze

  47. s.... ....

MAN !!!! what a line up !! Bonamassa, Hughes and Bonham,, this is some great stuff !! Thanks to "That Metal Show" for turnng me onto this !! I hadnt heard,, great rock n roll !!

  53. G.... P....

Glenn is a great singer..This is better than the original..(Trapeze)

  54. s.... ....

yes! I hope there will be more bands like Deep Purple, Rainbow, Uriah Heep in the Future...we need them! :)

  55. T.... ....

Glenn Hughes is hands down one of the most underrated vocalists as well as one of the most underrated bassists. Love this remake of the original Trapeze song. Joe B also shreds on the guitar on this track. Brilliant!

  56. l.... ....

@ckit4u Trapeze owns and obviously BCC as well. From the heart and soul.

  57. E.... F....

    @MrMokel
If it's good my friend, there is no need to change. That can be applied to anything in life.

  58. P.... K....

it sounds pretty much like in the light. awesome :D

  59. D.... B....

    Yeah! Rock is back!!!

  60. w.... ....

There is nothing wrong with making music in the vain of a certain genre of music ..70's or other as long as it is fresh and not just ripping off old melodies. Blues has about 8 different main riffs but is still going strong. This group is doing a great jod of keeping the ROCK fresh with the song structure of the clasic 70's vibe. More power to them. We could use more like them as far as I'm concerned.

  61. M.... ....

true, but that only means one thing: don´t listen to the radio! I don´t...

  62. T.... B....

We might be living in the 21st century, but turn on the radio and u won't hear anything this good!!!

  63. M.... ....

i am not saying this is bad music, it is obviously good music. but - come on, u are saying it, i have heard this in the early seventies, even the late sixties (of the last century!). this music in regression, we are living in the 21st century!

  64. l.... ....

Does this remind anyone else of classic Pink Floyd only harder?

  65. n.... ....

    SUCKS BALLS!

  66. v.... ....

All of you who say " Rock is back" and Glenn is awesome with this song....he should be . He's been singing this song since the early 1970's with the band Trapeze. Again , I'm decades ahead of the curve. LOL hehehehe hahahahaha

  67. S.... P....

Classic rock reborn. Finally some justice is done. Thank you Rock Gods.

  68. R.... D....

Wow Glenn Hughes souds like Gary Moore.Hard Rock is Back!!!

    R.... D....

That's probably because you heard the Gary Moore album that Glenn Hughes sang lead vocals on

  69. C.... M....

One person has snakes in their head......

  70. M.... V....

    why the face?

  71. W.... &....

Feels smooth like velvet, laid by gods of men, true music legends, and its filled with stuff of ages gone by!

  72. y.... ....

    Love this band
    great combo of musicians
really good to hear Jason in a
band where his potential can be
used instead of everyone expecting him
    to be John

  73. b.... ....

Brings back high school memories. Glen Hughes sounds better than ever. Love it!

  74. f.... ....

Damn this is awesome....even better than Trapeze original!

  75. M.... S....

One word: Awesome! I've listened to Trapeze-Trapeze since 1970, "Medusa" has never sounded better. This a great supergroup, long live Black Country Communion. (almost called "Let's Zep Again"!) Also, Give Joe Bonamassa's new album "Dust Bowl" a listen, I finally found someone to help me get over the tragic loss of Stevie Ray Vaughan!

  76. E.... F....

@MotorheadDrew I guess he was afraid of being less kickass than this.

  77. A.... J....

@eduf93 if chuck norris didnt like this band , it wouldnt be a band no more ;p

  78. E.... F....

The only guy who may have disliked this was Chuck Norris

  79. T.... ....

    @mr198221 Trapeze.

  80. W.... ....

@mr198221 The original was by Glenn Hughes first band "Trapeze" off their second album Medusa. The album is a classic rock gem.

  81. m.... ....

@mr198221 the q-104 show is friday nights. actually it's q-104.3 to be exact!

  82. m.... ....

@trevLV Hell yeah. I prolly wouldn't have heard of them if it wasn't for the great Eddie Trunk radio shows - Q-104 NYC 11p-2a, Monday Sirius ch 19 6p-10p

  83. m.... ....

    @SuperBert1970 who does the original?

  84. m.... ....

The bass is amazing. I am very impressed with this album. Kicks major ass. The bluesy vocals are cool as hell

  85. K.... R....

@nedd1013 everyones a critic but noone is really interested

  86. n.... ....

@nathan2k ................... As I stated before, "Monotonous, boring, blase and unoriginal." I also think you can hardly call a Trapeze song a "classic" from 1971. Their taste in music sucks as there are far better songs to cover from that year.

  87. A.... J....

Glenns Voice reminds me off a bit off Gary Moore Crossed with Paul Stanley

  88. n.... ....

Monotonous and boring. I definitely see a lot of potential, but it seems as though they're playing to some kind of mold or something. The vocals are the same. The guy can sing, but it's just a very blase and unoriginal melody. Sorry. I don't mean to offend or to even put down the band, I just call it as I see it.

  89. 8.... ....

@dontanner232 alright dude!!!! ;) rock on!!

  90. L.... ....

@450hp202turbo lol tosser you must have got beaten on or touched up as a child because you are seriously messed up.

  91. j.... r....

@LnBguitars SHAKES HEAD ,, OH YOUR SO COOL KID.. HAHAHAH SHIT FOR BRAINS

  92. j.... r....

@LnBguitars well hero you do better you maggot.. nothing nice to say STFU!

  93. L.... ....

i was expecting a hell of a lot better

  94. L.... ....

@LegendOfOldTrafford yeah but they sound shit. they can be technically good or whatever, but they sound shit. why would i want to nail one of petrucci's solos when there are other guitarists that i look up to more than him , and that sound a look better thaan him. his playing is so boring

  95. m.... m....

LnBguitars mate Dream Theater was the best Progressive Rock act of the last 20+ years other than Rush.Petrucci is one of the greatest guitarists in the history of Rock n Roll.If you say otherwise post a video of you nailing one of his solos like he does night in and night out.Mike Portnoy left because he is Mike Portnoy and he can do whatever the fuck he wants. He also left Avenged Sevenfold and good for him they are shite! Now please stop bothering me just enjoy B.C.C. and mind your own business

  96. L.... ....

@LegendOfOldTrafford im trolling you because your opinion is shit , and dream theater... really ? dream theater ? they are Crap , a level of how crap they are is there drummer left .. to join avenged sevenfold!!! hahah i mean if hed have left to join a decent band it would be ok ... but avenged sevenfold.. it takes the piss. and ozzy and tony may have made black sabbath but it sounded so much better when dio was the singer

  97. L.... ....

@msabaseball1293 oh my bad, i thought cos creed reunited, alter bridge split up

  98. L.... ....

@LegendOfOldTrafford you named no rock n roll bands there , them crooked vultures were absolute bullshite! wolfmothers new album was hideously dissapointing and alter bridge have split up

  99. m.... m....

just as every good fashion goes in and out of style so does style of music and i think we are starting to see a renaissance of Rock n Roll thank god...B.C.C., them crooked vultures, wolf mother, Alter Bridge is dirty, Big Elf. Hopefully the music industry releases more of this music instead of that Gaga, Bieber shit

  100. m.... m....

@WhoTheHellIsMargret even though they have been around for like 15 years XD they werent really known in america but went to scandanavia for awhile now Big Elf is has a cult following here because of their tour with Dream Theater.
