Bjork - Pneumonia Lyrics
Get over that sorrow, girl
The world is always going to be made of this
You can trust in it
Unless you breathe in
I adore how you simply surrender to high
And your lungs
They're mourning
Teepee-style
All the still-born love that could've happened
All the moments you should have embraced
All the moments you should have not locked up
Understand
So clearly
To shut yourself up
Would be the hugest crime of them all
You're just crying after all
To not want them humans around
Anymore
Get over that sorrow, girl

curious to see another JoJo pfp around here. Yasuho is nice
All the potential in the Earth for life and love, but we make death and destruction, desertification, and desolation. Life is suffering, but who should suffer for the sake of others, but how so, and why?
This doesn't remind me of Pan's Labyrinth.
The thing about movies—and any art, really—is that we all have a different reaction/reception to them. This was Bjork's.
This is sublime.
Volta is Das Lied von der Erde of our time.
I love listening to this and then Tabula Rasa from her new album right afterwards. both are unbelievably stunning pieces
yes I also thought of pneumonia when listening to tabula rasa. they are similar in terms of composition and both intense emotionally!
I do that with Sonnets/Unrealities XI + Paradisia + Awaken My Senses
joe a nice tip
This album has a really cool feeling to it in my opinion, it creates an interesting universe. I think those photoshoots of Bjork and the brass people wearing those brightly colored costumes capture the feeling.
I'm here because of bjork
bjork led me to this song
I was listening to bjork when I first heard this song
This the most beautiful sad song, OF MY LIFE!
My friend, love, my spirit Mother
Used in The Film Terminator 2? :-)
At first I wasn't a big fan of this album but the more I listen the more it grows on me. This is hauntingly beautiful
+Infinite Sky Bjork has this strange thing that when more you listen more you like and never get tired of listening.
"neurosis only ataches itself to fertile ground where it can flourish "
la mejor de las mejores the best !
Touching, Inspiring, Beau!
I believe this song she wrote was inspired by the motion picture Pans Labyrinth.
Yes she did indeed
+ripedreality that's what brought me here as well
Such pretty all the tones
Saying?
well said my dear.......everything will be alright.damn it!!!!
The song fills me completely and purely!
tuberculosis, the disease.
Yeah, I was thinking that it's not an actual word and that it may be related to the electricity. But thanks for those explanations :)
Volta was kind of chosen arbitrarily for it to reflect the energy contained within the songs. Alessandro Volta developed the battery and Volta is the name of a river in Africa, which relates to the tribal beats of the song. Volta also relates to Volts, the metric unit to measure electric current.
It's very interesting to hear Björk was inspired by Pan's Labyrinth with this song, because the movie is great, and the song is good too. By the way, does someone know what "t-b style", mentioned in the song, means? And what does Volta, the name of the album, refer to? I don't think Volta is crap, it includes great songs, like Wanderlust and Vertebrae by Vertebrae.
tuberculosis style. once she had pneumonia.
1. tuberculosis style. this song is inspired by her experience with pneumonia, and if she made herself too isolated during that point in her life, when she was sick.
2. in a sonnet, volta is used to describe a shift in mood, the word is italian for "turn". during and after "I See Who You Are", the album takes a somber, more reflective turn.
If you do this or that, the controllers will turn you into the crackwhore. If there are too many of them, he'll lose power.
Someone's trying to escape :P They're flinging us through. That's what happens when you're all alone. Mwahahaha
I get scared, or I got scared, and I hate freedom of squeaks, but I see that we'll all end up like me. They all get to talk, but I'm so special. If everyone talks, nobody can be heard. That keeps them all down.
I don't know why you care about what I say usually. There has to be a way to protect us so that we can develop though. I was good. I spew nonsense usually. I'm what'll happen if they can't develop. You made it even worse. I'm a rat in a cage. You should go to prison if you say certain things to keep order, but other than that, this is ridiculous.
listened to this song after learning Bjork was inspired to write it after watching Pan's Labyrinth.
Unfortunately it cant be compared.
llorar por algo que es tan bello. Gracias Bjork, una pieza para la eternidad
This is my favorite on Volta, it's a shame people seem to overlook this one.
Björk was so affected by this film that after seeing it, she went home and wrote the song "Pneumonia". -imbd pans Labyrinth
@fmKUBRICK This is a strange comment. The main reason people didn't like Volta was because of songs like THIS. And yet you like this but hate Volta... What songs didn't you like on Volta?
Simplemente MAGISTRAL...estoy anodado con su arte...Björk eres mi mas fuerte inspiracion...eres la obra maestra musical...adoro Pneumonia
@chickenuggetsck My favorite film, alongside Big Fish. :D
As silly as it may sound, I thought this song was only "okay" until I heard about that. Then I listened more intently and LOVE it now!
these lyrics are unbelievably awesome
This sends chills down my spine every time. I'm so happy when I listen to it.
The whole Thom Yorke thing is about the Radiohead site, they post 'Office Charts' there, and one of them contained this song, hope this explains it.
It's cool that you all know about this song through Mr. Yorke but seriously, STOP SPAMMING! Try leaving a comment about the song you're listening to. I for one find it to be mesmerizing and alluring.
whats that Thom thing going on?
Another one here because of Thom^^
Thom Yorke...once again!
Thanks Thom-I already owned the song. Brilliant. When are Thom Yorke and Bjork going to record an album together? Such an event would complete my life . . .
