Bjork - Innocence Lyrics
I once had no fears
None at all
And then when
I had some
I grew to like both
Scared or brave
Without them
The thrill of fear
Thought I'd never admit it
The thrill of fear
Now greatly enjoyed with courage
When I once was
Innocence roared
Still amazes
When I once was
Innocent
It's still here
But in different places
Neurosis
Only
Attaches
Itself to
Fertile
Ground
Where it can flourish
The thrill of fear
Thought I'd never admit it
The thrill of fear
Now greatly enjoyed with courage
When I once was
Fearless
Innocence roared
Still amazes
Untouchable
Innocence
It's still here
But in different places
Fear is a powerful drug
Overcome it and
You think that you can do
Anything!
Should I
Save myself
For later
Or generously give?
Fear of
Losing
Energy
Is draining
It locks up your chest
Shuts down the heart
Miserly
And stingy
Let's open up : share!
When I once was
Fearless
Innocence roared
Still amazes
Untouchable
Innocence
It's still here
But in different places

Bjork Innocence Comments
I can just imagine a DJ on stage mixing live to this and it would be fucking insane
I now understand where deathgrips came from
Collab with SOPHIE
That instrumental is from Ssthop by Garlic Bread, also prod. by Timbaland WTF?!?!? Mind fuck!
Oddly this gave me Blackout Britney vibes
Then I found out Danja produced this, it made sense.
Yeah, very similar sounds!
Timbaland and these hot ass beats! I swear you couldn' tell him nothin' during the 1996-2007 era of his magical touch. Was so pleased to learn by way of a rare 2004 interview, Bjork shared that she was a big fan of him & Missy Elliott (even had Missy's deep album cut "Slide" on her iPod Shuffle lol) and was willing to work with them on the "Volta" project. Though Missy didn't make the cut, I appreciate that Timbaland was and was able to produce something that was reminiscent of a joint that he and Missy would produce. "Birth of a completely new genre" as coined by Adam Levine of Maroon 5 when he praised the pair's & Destiny's Child work via "Huffington Post" in 2010.

Is this the only decent song on VOLTA ?
Declare Independence!
Gabriel Henriquez nooooo
Gabriel Henriquez to me it was more sound than a song
The Dull Flame of Desire, Pneumonia, Hope!
Magical Songs
Nah there are several. “Wanderlust” being one of them.
This song has such a weird vibe.
I love this song! The beat and sound are infectious. Bjork is tremendous.
One of the worst songs of all time.
Patchy Pirate D:
How so?
This song holds some strong power that I can't even explain without sounding like an alien! I love it so much and Bjork is a talented woman! <3
Hey guys I bet you know they used the pp7 shot effect from Goldeneye 64....But did you know there's another video game sample in this song?
The almost bell sounding break in the intro (and played throughout parts of the song) is a sped up song from Shadow Man on the Nintendo 64. You can hear it here https://youtu.be/cKYg6ncIIq0?t=67 (at around 1:07 if the link doesn't already play it there). I noticed this forever ago, but never saw anyone talking about it.
Hopefully someone gets to read this and be just as surprised at the choice of samples in this song.
Scuffs Mcgee wow!
WOW all you do say its true, do yo have the list complete of samples in VOLTA?
unfortunately its just a stock sound you can buy off a website and is found is more games and cartoons, not specifically related to that game
this is 10 years old now
atdhe behluli no need for that. It’s timeless and so is Björk
Björk and Timbaland are few of the last OG's that can create beats that kick this much ass! Missy Elliott also comes to mind.
WKA DESIGNS bRUH IM NEXT BABE
I loooooove the punching sound this song is crazy, love it love it love it
Where Is The Line + Earth Intruders = This
innocence
And again, björk doing tons of things first here. So now, i know where does that "drop the beat" trend comes from. 3:17
I might be wrong, but she used it here 5 years before it started to be popular.
Nah that's an old trope of electronic music that goes back to early House days in '80s :)
bjork and timberland together genius enough said!
Omg it sounds like her vocals were recorded on a potato wtf
💙💙💙💙 forgot about this song... amazed again
aún está pero en diferentes lugares :)
brought here because of bjork
Han, Shadow Man sample...
What? Shadow man?
Oh, I wasn't speaking about you, uh uh. But the sample used in the beginning of the song is also present in the theme "Playroom" from the game Shadowman ^^
Wow its true, do you have the complete list of samples in VOLTA?
Brought here by the queen known as Mitch grassi
HA FOR ONCE I ALREADY KNEW THE SONG THAT HE LINKED! Usually I don't get to brag about loving a song before he recommends it, so excuse my caps lock. This whole album is amazing. Earth Intruders, Vertebrae by Vertebrae (my favorite), and Pneumonia are my favorites.
When did he recommend it? WHEN??
@Güvenç Arı It was Feb 26
On Twitter ?
That... is unambiguously... the Walter PP7 from Goldeneye.
Specifically the silenced version
I never get tired of the bridge, so much going on with her vocals there.
People probably don't know that Timbaland produced this
@Anonymous who wrote the lyrics?
@Anonymous Danja it's the same that worked with Britney on Blackout?
@Alexis Young LFO for life!🎹🎧💫😵👌😎👍
@ManBehindTheMirror - Collections haha. Byork . As always. She is not Boyence.

This was the first Bjork song I ever heard.
I've been in love ever since.
Is this the only quality song on VOLTA ?
Bjork played this song at Auckland for the big day out 2008---i will never forget the experience...
