Damn, I love this piece... It tells an extremely sad story, from what I hear... I'll throw it here in the comments because why the FUCK not.

I see two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother. They're fleeing from their village, which has been razed to the ground. Or something... The lyrics reflect the older sister's words as she speaks to her little sibling, giving him hope. They're trudging through dangerous terrain while dressed in rags, and it's freezing and... there's probably a cliff somewhere nearby which is why she asks him to not look below, and not look at the ruins behind them as well.

Plus, she fears they might be tracked by the people responsible for destroying their home, so she tells the boy to be quiet-- try not to breathe. They're fleeing, hiding from something.

They make it into a forest, looking for someplace the sister thinks will lead them to a safe haven by the sea, but at some point realizes that it's going to be a much longer journey than she could imagine... Something happens to her, she either gets sick or wounded and is dying/slowing them down. When she's certain she isn't going to make it, she tells her brother to let go, maybe of her hand-- and most definitely of her.

"Don't look behind you." She wants him to keep going, to where she's certain he'll be safe, but she has to stay behind and she doesn't want him to see what's left of her. Just to keep going further...

From there she knows, for the only person she's tried and failed to guide and protect, it's a long way home.

This song makes me think of a trusting child being lead away into the forest to be victimized.... very haunting music.  Wish the rest of their music was like this..

One of my favorites! It's dark and emotional in a certain way. When I hear this song I imagine childs walking through spiky vines in a very high place with clouds and winds... Weird...

this song definitely needs to be way longer i really get a weird visual in my mind  when i listen to this song...picutre if you will an astronaut drifint through space forever and not dying and tipping on acid and shrooms and being in a complete state of bliss and all kinds of colorful visuals like supernovas and the milky way i cant explain it.

i think it's short because it's just an outro to the album's theme. After one of the shows, Rainbow confirmed my hunch that Leaving Tonight was about a true murder story in Canada. I really think this track is like the second half of Leaving Tonight.

Indeed this song is so short I thought that somehow I got a defective copy of the song. It sounds like the beginning got cut off. I wish they had a longer version of this song.
