Birds Of Tokyo - White Leaves Lyrics

White leaves fall on,
A pale background
Bright light surrounds,
Even the shade is warm

A breeze so kindly
Softens a winters grip
Please wait with me
We can take in the sun

It's time to say goodbye
I feel change is coming
When dawn begins to break
Our cold days are over

Open full bloom
Among endless fields
The white fringe welcomes
A new season

We'll be alright, in this light
We'll be alright, in this light
We'll be alright, in this light
We'll be alright, in this light

To lie again, to lie under the summer
To lie again, to lie under the summer
To lie again, to lie under the summer
To lie again, to lie under the summer

We'll be alright, in this light
We'll be alright, in this light

We'll be alright, in this light
We'll be alright, in this light

Circles is my fav since i first heard it on Home And Away in the last couple of years.

Ian Kenny's absolutely right when he says this is the song to introduce anyone to Birds of Tokyo. It's an atmospheric, nice song.
The thing is, I've been a fan since Day One. It's a lot harder assimilating newer stuff like March Fires into my schema of BoT with all that older material still in mind...

+emmakatenotcake He said it was the perfect song to introduce Karnivool fans to Birds of Tokyo, not to introduce anyone. Most likely because of it's progressive nature, an almost 8 min song with an irregular structure, definitely not a standard pop format. For the average joe the best introductory song to Birds would probably be Plans, something in that middle ground between the synth rock stuff from March Fires and the heavier alt rock of Universes. While Universes is still my favourite Birds record, March Fires is a close second. I love thematic albums and March Fires certainly pulled it off. I think it gets a bad rap because it's different, because it puts more of an emphasis on keyboards and synthesisers rather than guitar. I think that's what makes Birds of Tokyo such a great band, the way they keep changing things up with each release, hit or miss, is very entertaining. This brings me back to Plans being the ideal introductory song for the band for the line "I'll keep you guessing, keep you wanting more, 'cos where we're going no one knows". Sums up the band perfectly.
