no they were Forced to Change their name due to an American band having the same name (Billy Talent/Pezz is Canadian) and so they changed it to Billy Talent.

Billy talent and pezz are nearly same but they have changed their music style a little. As billy they were much better, much more synchronized and there was better rythm. Till they have introduced new album dead Silence= piano song WTF? Except viking dead march and surprise surprise and maybe also dead silence (song) it's more rubish. The albums Billy talent I , II , III were best. That's just my opinion. If someone thinks something other please reply by smarter comments

@kugunga They tried suing the Memphis punk band Pezz for copyright infringement, however, the American band had had the name for longer than the Canadian Pezz so that kind of backfired. They then, in turn, had to change their name to Billy Talent.

For the last fucking time no one in the band is named Billy, the lead singer's name is Ben. They got their name from a book.
