Billy Joel - Stiletto Lyrics
She cuts you once, she cuts you twice
But still you believe
The wound is so fresh you can taste the blood
But you don't have strength to leave
You've been bought, you've been sold
But you stand there pleadin'
With your insides bleedin'
'Cause you deep down want some more
When she says she wants forgiveness
It's such a clever masquerade
She's so good with her stiletto
You don't even see the blade
You don't see the blade
She cuts you hard, she cuts you deep
She's so fascinating that you're still there waiting
When she comes back for the kill
You've been slashed in the face
You've been left there to bleed
You want to run away
But you know you're gonna stay
'Cause she gives you what you need
Then she says she needs affection
While she searches for the vein
She's so good with her stiletto
You don't really mind the pain
You don't mind the pain
She cuts you out, she cuts you down
She carves up your life
But you won't do nothing
As she keeps on cutting
'Cause you know you love the knife
You've been bought, you've been sold
You've been locked outside the door
But you stand there pleadin'
With your insides bleedin'
'Cause you deep down want some more
Then she says she wants affection
While she searches for the vein
She's so good with her stiletto
You don't really mind the pain
You don't mind the pain

Uncut Gems sent me here 💍🔪
" Behtoven would have been PROUD. " ABSOLUTELY GREAT SONG !
Amazing to learn that Billy Joel was sampled in A Hip Hop Classic! "Road 2 Da Riches" Kool G Rap & D.J. Polo BILLY JOEL IS THE REAL BOSS IN MY OPINION..NOT BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!!!
Man, I love Billy Joel!
Elton John eat your butty man heart out.
"When I was five years old, I realized there was a road
at the end, I will win lots of pots of gold.
Never took a break, never made a mistake
took time to create 'cause there's money to make.
To be a billionaire takes hard work for years,
some nights I shed a tear while I said a prayer.
Been through hard times, even worked part time
in a Key Food store sweeping floors for dimes.
I was sort of a porter taking the next man's orders
breaking my back for a shack from headquarters.
All my manpower for four bucks an hour,
took my time and wrote rhymes in the shower.
Shoes are scuffed 'cause the road gets rough
but I'mma rock it 'cause my pockets ain't stuffed enough.
All the freaks wouldn't speak 'cause my checks were weak,
they would turn the other cheek, so I started to seek...
a way to get a play, and maybe one day
I'll be performing up a storm for a decent pay.
No matter how it seems, I always kept the dream
all the girlies screamed and suckers get creamed.
Dreamed about it for five years straight...
finally, I got a break to cut my first plate.
The road ain't yellow and it ain't no witches
My name is Kool G Rap, I'm on the Road To The Riches."
i just heard this song played on Sirus XM for the 1st time. how in the hell did i not hear it before!! its GREAT!!
From his "elegant thug" dyas?
#OdedFriedGaon #OdedMusic

My family or my in-laws? Now there's a multi-million dollar question!!
That sax is amazing
First album I ever bought myself, I listened to it over and over and over again!
Amazing that the best songs on this album were not the hits that were force fed to the public
俺にはとても渋く響いてくる惚れ込んでしまったNUMBERです
All my manpower for four bucks an hour
Took my time and wrote rhymes in the shower
Shoes are scuffed 'cause the road gets rough
But I'mma rock it 'cause my pockets ain't stuffed enough.....
his voice sounds so deep here
This song is so dope man, which gave birth to KOOL G RAP road to the riches, WORD!.
Dream Collaboration:
Billy Joel+King Crimson
Who was the inspiration for this song
Gta SA?
my life music video...
This is a pretty graphic song 😬
Billy's voice sounds different in this song.
Juice crew kool g rap big daddy Kane
Is it just me? Or does that piano solo give me tingles?😂
Piano sounds like a road to the riches( intro)
Soooooooo Fucking Good!
This is Billy at his best. Kick ass jam by the entire band.
Tarantulissimo is right. The whole album had at least three chart-toppers and sold like hell in the old "Columbia House Record Club," along with his previous album "The Stranger." So, while this and some other cuts didn't make top 40, we listened and were impressed. A piano transcription also sold well and I bought it, learned it as well as an 11 year old could.... and then the Billy Joel esthetic was inundated by the disco/metal wars. That might account for the perception that this really great individualistic style was "underrated." The sexual innuendo in the lyrics is damn compelling among other neat-o characteristics; rather unique in the day when the various cultural taboos were still binding tightly. Don't forget, soon thereafter maDonna was supposedly making gains for women by dressing differently and acting sexy, as if that were novel for female vocalists (fail).
KOOL G RAP-ROAD 2 RICHES
Lol love this song n.w.a. used that piano in their song Lol so cool we all are one and intertwined some way i always say you can't be a lover of music if you don't love all genres!😚😚😚😚
Love this song! Old School Billy Joel! Had this on 8 track!😊💕
Ain’t this the sample from Road To The Riches By Kool G Rap & Polo G
Underrated, overrated, or whatever else, it's a great song!
Outstanding cut from an excellent album
The only reason he's considered underrated by so many is because he stopped making albums in the 90's.
is this his "dark" record? Like VH's Fair Warning?
52nd street was such a great album, every song was great! It defined our times very underrated
That intro, GTA SA brought me here
#wantsomemorehoney?👠💃💄💋
💃👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠👠💃💄💋
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This one is real funky. No wonder it's been sampled so much.
Billy Joel is the Grand
Why does this song resonate with me so much 😭
Is it just me, or do I hear a bit of Khachaturian's "Saber Dance" at the beginning and end of this song?
When I was five years old... (8)
2019 anyone?
Wow! Most of the rest of his songs have got like 10 million views. This gem has only 476k. What's up with that?
At his peak Elton John outshown Billy Joel in record sales. But Elton was supported by Bernie Taupin's brilliant but often obscure lyrics. Elton would never have achieved his level of success without Bernie, who in my opinion never received enough credit.
On the other hand Billy was the complete package. Outstanding musically but oh his lyrics! What incredible stories they told!
Iabrat, you hit it right on the button. 👍
Liberty Devitto’s just a wiz on the hi-hats... Crisp and fresh...
AWESOME SONG!
He is a great lyricist.
Talent oozing! That's all!
Good tune
This reminds me of when I give blood.
I’m Dj polo and I’m on the road to the riches
Awsome!
Billy Joel from the same school of ray Charles and Donald fagen and you gotta appreciate the groove and harmony here
Richie Cannatta...damn. Listen to that gosh DAMNED saxophone.
The first time I heard this song I literally whooped at the top of my lungs!
Great album, brings me back to age 13 and late nights drinking screwdrivers in my friend's living room thanks to absentee/bad parenting.
This song is cool
See, here's how it goes.. One person says it's "underrated", and then someone sees that comment and then they say it's underrated as well. Then everyone else starts putting the same thing. People just always follow other people's comments. It's ridiculous.
Great American music!
this was sampled from a old school hip hop group..was it epmd
This IS the original song and EPMD did not sample it...
Billy Joel is what a real Musician is supposed to be . I don't want to sound like an old man .
His career has covered almost every genre of Music . What's on the Radio as Pop doesn't compare and he did all this without autotune .
He's a Damn Genius .
Seen him 4 times ..When he toured with Elton John was the Best concert I've been to .
Well of course, he was with Elton John, what can be better than two of the best pop musicians in the damn world on stage together
blazin'
Yesssssss ~
I really don’t know why people didn’t like this. The composition of the song is actually very awesome, maybe those people didn’t really know what music is
I can semi-relate to this song.
The Coldcrush , The Coldcrush, The Coldcrush.............
I see we have an OG in the house, lol...
blazin'
Well Kool g rap & Polo
Isn't the beginning instrumentals of this song the beginning instrumentals to the music video of "My Life"?
Gangsta Lyryics ( real talk ) .. but brilliantly phrased
Intellectual lyrics.. but straight NYC... that's y people r still catching up... A GENIUS
That saxophone sounds so amazing
This was a popular breakbeat at Hip-Hop jams back in the 70s...
The vocal/piano call/response is just cool. Love the song
That piano though... chills EVERY time
one of the best in concert at maple leaf gardens!
I forgot about this song. This is hard core for billy Joel.
Hip-hop heads BEEN knowing what time it is with this joint, BEFORE G Rap's Road To The Riches. "The Cold Crush...The Cold Crush..."
Great beat snap!
el-p brought me here
Kool G rap was on the road to the riches
The pic says "Compact disc" What do I look like an amature? Give me a turntable any day.
