By far the best bragg song, perfect 12string and lead played by johnny marr. You can tell its him a mile off, and the backwards effects on lead which the smiths used sparingly in songs like "well I wonder". Great tune.

Some songs lose meaning as you get older. For me, this one just becomes more poignant. Ah, the wistful days of adolescence. Love you Billy.

This always reminds me of the first time Is aw Billy back in 1982. He was doing the Red Wedge tour at Stockport Town Hall and the candidate for the election was called Shirley Haines. She was there and he sung it to her. I've seen him loads of time since but thats where it all began!
