ok, this is now my new favourite song. I ended up coming here from "why so serious" by Bibio which was another great song but to hear Bibio's voice for real is just...and that guitar rift...ahhh I am in heaven.

I'm fortunate enough to come from a similar part of England. And everything about this song feels so incredibly close to home.

The woodlands and fields look so similar to the ones just down the road from my Grandparents old house, where I grew up and played over long summers and warm autumns. I remember getting soaked in streams like the ones here with friends.

And the music. The samples could be taken in my back garden. The instruments could've come from the dusty old ones in my Grandparents loft.

The whole piece, music and video combined feels so immensely personal. And I adore it. Curls is, and always will be one of my all time favourites.

The instrumentation is just drop-dead gorgeous. When I first heard this track over a good pair of headphones, I had a serious case of the goosebumps. The oboe sounds playful yet innocent, and Bibio's voice has never sounded more ethereal and poignant over the violins

Since 2009, when I'm on my vacation, I'm used to listen to Bibio at my dacha (outdoors house) in Russia. There are beautiful trees, grass and a huge field, we have rest with my friends. I'm waiting for it, and Curls will be playing in my headphones this year for sure!
