Between The Buried And Me - King Redeem / Queen Serene Lyrics
I can't hear a thing
These waves crash faster
I can't see a thing
These arms grab for wonder
Inside our own small cage
I can't hear a thing
These waves crash faster
I can't see a thing
These arms grab for wonder
King redeem
Queen serene
Dusk drifts by with one last try
Clench... trapped... lids fold inside
Blurred mind... dry tears foam from high
Sleep walk past my cornea
Eclipse washed out... unscathed
Search for the formal stage
I slip past my own mind
A small gift taken from my time
Mute mouth
Mute mind
Color spectrum false, invoke heart rate race
Hysteria develops a hold
Raging winds force the earths
symphony through my ears
Clarity is not known
A fortress blackened by a dissolving sun
A visual memory vanishes
Presence of hope intertwined
A transcript lost from what we've taught
To speak is not an act without our tongues
The human race has been deformed
A quilt of skin surrounds out lungs
Build an arrow to force a grim corrupted turn
Color spectrum is now false
our eyes will see no more
A transcript lost from what we've taught
To speak is not an act without our tongues
The human race has been deformed
A quilt of skin surrounds out lungs
Build a monster to bury the infected worm
Color spectrum is now false
our eyes will see no more
Mute mouth
Mute mind
King redeem... Queen serene
Blinded bells... the deafened sing
Hysteria develops a hold
Clarity is not known
We cough the future
We scratch the past
Into the circular I grab the jagged gaze
Color spectrum false invoke heart rate race
A transcript lost from what we've taught
To speak is not an act without our tongues
The human race has been deformed
A quilt of skin surrounds out lungs

Dust drifts by with one last try

New mouth! New blind!
New bone! New life!
Carve this
The spectrum, falls in for heart
Wait, race
Been starring at divinity
Home! Wrecking with those stairs
Forces are summoning
Summoning it's thunder
Fortress - deck of my empty salvation
Angry the one that awaken the shell
Is it our vow? In our rights
Scraped theft lies
From what we've done
To speak his running act without a touch
The human race has been deformed
A cruel escape is out our eyes
Kill the hero to forsake!
Whisk around him die
Colors wither, miserables
Our eyes will see no-one
Scraped theft lies
From what we've done
To speak his running act without a touch
The human race has been deformed
A cruel escape is out our eyes
Building monster to believe
The infected way
Gallards beckon, miserables
Alas mutiny no more
New mouth! New blind!
New bone! New life!
No more, no blind!
No more, no blind!
Can't retake grace's aura
But you've built crucifix side
You stubborn computer savior
Crawl our days, but it's in blood
You come, you should
We scratch the past!
Into the sucular
I grab the jagged gaze
Come and speak truth false
Even I'll erase
(Come and speak truth false
Even I'll erase)
Scraped theft lies
From what we've done
To speak his running act without a touch
The human race has been deformed
A cruel escape is out our eyes
Incorrect lyrics
For example: Carve this the spectrum falls in for heart race
Is actually: Color spectrum false invoke heart rate race
Coming here 3 years later and seeing nobody giving praise to how awesome Tommy's vocal technique is at 3:27 and onward. That dual scream is fucking magnificent.
Best band in the world!
This is one of my favorite Opeth albums.
Bourbon Ernie today's Opeth can only dream about making a record like this
I agree I would love opeth then but opeth is opeth
Love how it starts as the most traditionally "beautiful" song on the album, and then transforms into one of the heaviest songs on the album.
By far, the most unique sound I have ever heard. I though I heard it all!!!!!!!!!!
god, the fucking black metal-esque section at 3:27 is so well done. the transitions to and from it are just wonderful. such a phenomenal album.
The first minute or two remind me a lot of queen
Definitely!!!! I love it
2:46 - 3:05
That's the BTBAM I miss.
+Alex Gross i enjoy new btbam i really don't see whats roung with them having cleans
+Alex Gross in my opinion you can disagree it fits there sound very well
+Alex Gross at least there not bitching about ex girlfriends you gotta give them that
@Brendon stacey whats wrong with liking both deathcore and prog
@Brendon stacey btw the contortionist is great
Best song on the album
3:00 is the best part
I was excited when this album came out. Skeptical when I first listened to the album. After listening to this album over and over again, I can say this is probably one of the most well-constructed Prog albums out there. Listen. Pay attention. Grasp the meaning behind every word, experience the emotion, and contemplate. This album can be a hit-or-miss for people, but if you take the time to appreciate this album (like any other), this can be one of their best albums (not mine particular).
Still, nothing compares to Colors and The Parallax.
They have an amazing evolution as a band. Every album is great, they don't necessarily get better just different in an groovy way. I'm biased tho cause they are hands down by far my favorite band. Tommy's solo stuff is great too, if you haven't peeped it, do.
@arynn ritter I strongly agree with that description. I love all of their albums.
at 2:10 the it reminds me a little of opeth, then changes. btbam are an all around badass band
This has become one of my new favorite BtBaM songs of all time. I knew I would like it just by looking at it's title before it was even released. When I heard 3:05 - 4:28 for the first time, I got all teary eyed. There are only a select few songs period that have done that to me. What a priceless gem. This record is up there with Colors for me.
what other songs?
+Zachary Hudson Mordecai and Selkies have that effect on me as well
tehbrave1 definitely Mordecai
dude all the way through colors white walls made me cry. the music blended with the words. such a way with words
YTPoopProductions
this drums sound soooo good on this album.
Not my favorite album by them, but I must admit this has to be their most musical album up to date! Not to mention the production is near flawless. A prog metal masterpiece 9.5/10
"Into the circular, I grab the jagged gaze:
CO-LOR SPEC-TRUM FALSE!
IN-VOKE HEART RATE RACE!"
5:40

"Transcript LOST!! From what we've TAUGHT!!
To speak is not an act without OUR TONGUES!!!
The human RACE!! Has been DEFORMED!!
A quilt of skin surr-ounds OUR LUNGS!!!"
Ok but not having an eargasim
Btbam is way to complex of a band to keep releasing the same sounding album over and over. This album is super cool from what ive heard so far. Reading through the comments in all these videos i feel like no one likes the great misdirect. I loved that album lol. I started listening around alaska and that will probably always be my fav. But as much of a metal fan i am im glad to see they cut out a lot of it. Ive always thought their fast thrash parts didnt really do proper justice compared to the rest of their songs. I mean in the sense of complexity.
+Andrew Martens They have so many good songs, but Swim to the Moon is one of my favorite songs ever...let alone from BtBaM.
The Great Misdirect was a masterpiece imo...Swim To The Moon is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard
Andrew Martens I've seen that a lot everyone is all about colors but my favorite album the great misdirect gets overlooked because it wasn't colors two :/
Holy crap. One song contains a spectacular history lesson of kinds of rock and metal. from proggy and Yes-like to Nile! The progression (progressive is the word!) of this song is just theatrical and cosmic. Such a great band!
You know what is amazing about this album? It's like they made a metal musical. It's all very theatric...and amazing.
@InvisibleTeeth They're basically getting into Dream Theater caliber songwriting. Hence the 'theater' in Dream Theater's name.
@InvisibleTeeth If you like this for the theatrical elements, you should check out Devin Townsend.
you might want to check out the new ayreon album the source, its more theatrical/musical-esque than this and has giles in a bunch of songs
The same can be said about every BTBAM album since The Silent Circus. That's what's great about progressive metal; it all sounds very theatrical and complete.
"Theatric" ..Welcome to BTBAM! Lol
So fucking good.
I feel like I'm listening to a Broadway musical . This stuff is so awesome . I'm new to the band too . Sucks I didn't know them earlier or I would be going to their concerts !
@Cj Doyle Listen to Alaska and Colors if you're new to BTB&M
@Tim Campbell I like Alaska, but in my opinion the order of best albums goes (Best to not best): Parallax, TGM, Colors, and I'm not sure about this and Alaska, they're pretty much a tie at the moment for me :D
Colors is a great introduction to BtBaM though
@Velatoget Finally, someone else who likes the Parallax the most haha I agree with your order; Parallax then The Great Misdirect. The other albums, including this one, I like less than those two, but I still very much enjoy.
@Kaikojo Yeah, Parallax had the downfall of being over-produced, but otherwise, I'd say it's their best. It's definitely their most progressive, which is the entire reason I listen to BtBaM in the first place :)
Damn, your comment was 3 years ago. I hope you got to see the Colors 10 year tour! Best show I've ever seen
Fucking great they soo good man my fav album yet, i love most of there stuff but, this album really give's u a taste of who they used to be and what they progressed to.
I like all of BTBAM's albums, there all different and very good in their own unique way, i prefer some albums to others but they have always surprised and intrigued me. This album is a perfect example for them doing this.
this song feels like it would be on alaska
@Fooger doobs *blast beats internally*
This song, Famine Wolf and Ectopic Stroll are perfection
Turn on the Darkness kicks my ass
Who could dislike this? I'm constantly blown away by btbam
I agree! BTBAM are just too creative for some. True BTBAM fans are open minded and do or die!
+Dan Pinkerton Screw everyone who doesn't like The Parallax album and EP. They're amazing. I do have to admit though, Colors is top notch.
+cooliocaptin517 I feel the same way; Colors is my all-time favorite album. But they continue to evolve, taking gigantic, tangible leaps forward in a variety of ways with every album.
I feel like BtBaM are the most creative musicians we've ever seen. TGM, Parallax, and now Coma Ecliptic have all been incredibly creative endeavors that continue to get better with every new listen. For example, I listened to Melting City for like the 1000th time today and am still blown away by how dramatic the CAN'T LIVE WITH THIS section is.
+Alec Neevel Couldn't have put it better myself. People who dislike Post-Colors BTBAM are missing out big time. Parallax is, after all, the album that got me into them.
+Dan Pinkerton how can you forget the "not br00tal enough!" guys?
love when it picks up at 1:59 sounds all egpytianyyy
@***** Yes it's good to hear the Phrygian scale get put to good use. Also, I love at 3:26 it gets a bit of old-school black metal! Vber nostalgic! \m/, lmao- King & Queen? How about Emperor! XD Great song though & killer album.
@rox mclaughlin dem phyrigian scales
Intro is pretty awesome. Chorus kicks ass.
This album is so damn good. I'm glad to see them expanding on what they play in new and very different ways.
I love this. I normally like their longer songs (Silent Flight Parliament, Sun of Nothing), but this is spectacular. Fits a lot of epic in.
+Dawn Leaf I love how a 7 minute song is absurdly long for any other band, but it's considered "short" for BtBaM. It's amazing.
+Skyrim Sniper went to post this then saw it was already taken care of. Thanks :)
+roxcyn kiddo just stop
+Jessika Billings took the words right out of my mouth
@Jessika Davis Yeah this is what annoys me the most about people complaining about anything that isn't Colors.
In all honesty, Colors had a pretty shitty mix, and a lot of the songwriting felt stitched together (like they were really trying to figure out the whole thing that came with TGM and Parallax). But it's still an amazing record, just don't expect the same shit every release.
It's like wishing Metallica would release 15 Master of Puppets or Justice albums. Not gonna happen so live with it and enjoy it.
