My favourite part of this song is how it uses a name for Satan (roaring lion) and sticks it on Jesus. Classic Bethel. But who reads the bible anyways these days? Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 ---- It's just a little leaven ... no worries. Proverbs 28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

Let us be watchful with the lyrics of the song everyone, the roaring lion pertains to Satan according to 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” I hope they correct that line. God bless everyone ☺️

Chicka girl I would humbly suggest a different way of reading that verse. The key word in that verse is “like.” The devil uses different tactics to keep mankind confused and in that verse it explains one tactic that the devil uses is to imitate (“like” a roaring lion) Jesus, who IS the Lion of Judah. Similar in concept to verse 2 Corinthians 11:14 “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” When the songs author wrote “the roaring lion declared the grave has no claim on me” - I think is is beautiful word art that honors Jesus the Christ and what He did for us.

Last night, my first grade grandson mentioned to me how much he loved this song he heard in the BIG church that morning.... and started sharing/singing lyrics that obviously made an impression on him: "Hallelujah..... you have broken every chain, there's salvation in Your name". Once I figured out the song, we all kept singing different parts of it throughout our board game time. It meant SO much to me that worship had impacted him; he's never shared like that to date. So Praise God, for using this song to touch his spirit, and bless our family this weekend, and probably forever, as it's a very catchy chorus. Bless you <3

Actually, the Bethel people are usually the first ones to perform these songs. They have every right to since they almost always co-write the songs with established artists (in this case, Phil Wickham).
