Ben Harper has been one of my "discoveries" while I lived in US....He seems to be the most contemporary talented bluesman. You can see and feel his soul on each of his performances....I regret myself for not finding a concert before leaving United States.....

what a talented man and he is virtually unknown to most people. The music industry has been successful is lowering the bar gradually enough that people settle for mediocre crap instead of beautiful ,soulful music like this. How did we let this happen? Boycott the radio. Maybe that will get the powers that be to take notice. don't get me wrong I like plenty of new music but you won't hear most of it on the radio. The record labels pay to get what they want on the radio. Thats how it works. They force feed us Lady Gaga and other crap because they can. We need a music revolution like in the 60's. It could change the world! Unite!
Yes, you are completely right! There has been a total manipulation of music...call it a "great dumbing down", but look into the "revolution" of 60's music and how that may have been an intentional "manipulation" as well. The book "Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon" by Dave McGowan may provide a starting point and/or explanation on how we ended up with the disgusting ear garbage presented to the masses that is set on a "loop" for daily intentional "programming"...
