A hopeless romantics anthem... This song reminds me a lot of college. Must have listened to it a thousand times in the dorm and on bus rides home.

Just over six years ago, my mom passed away after a difficult battle with liver failure. This song is one of the ones that remind me of her, especially at that time in our lives. About six months later, my brother and I were able to see BFF on their reunion tour...second row seats in Charleston, SC. During that amazing show, the band did this song...with my brother and me crying our eyes out. When they were finished, Ben said they almost never do it live but something told them to that night. My brother and I like to think that they played it that night in honor of our mom.

Not long ago I tried to commit suicide. I sent this in an email this past week to family and others for various reasons. They will hear what is said in the song in different ways. I sent it to my mom and dad because well I wish I could be the 11 year old son they knew and I knew once as I was truly happy then. Since then life has been ... well ... tough. I sent this song to many because I was letting them know if I ever died I at least would maybe at peace finally. I also let them know I was sorry for being a burden due to my my mental illness. Just last night I was talking to a friend of my brother (who passed on) and told him I wish I could trade places with my brother as he was truly happy and should be the one living. I wish he had the opportunity to be happy again. I wish I had the opportunity to finally rest. Anyway ...

Just an analogy of life... 3.9 GPA Nursing/PreMed, $1000/ night -$1000/week fine dining server/sommelier. Dad gets cancer, I withdrawl from school to work day job as a contractor n be there at night. Now Dad is gone, though he be in Spirit. I was blessed to be a musician, chef, and potential doctor or nurse practitioner. Now I get up n it's dark. Get home, it's dark. I am struggling for hope in Christ. For someone who actually cares, as I have been blessed with so much potential. Please Lord, let us escape this superficial world. I want a wife, kids, a life.
