Is Robin trying to sing "black" on this one? I'm a loyal fan of of his. But I can't say I completely agree with how he uses his voice, either here or in other songs of this album.

Probably not, he sings a few songs this way long before they started singing R&B styled songs in the mid 70s. Listen to songs like Monday's Rain(1966) and It Doesn't Matter Much To Me, he sings similar to the way he does here. Sure it's an influence on him though, he's said a number of times in interviews that, Soul was his favorite kind of music.

Love Robin to death but I can only assume that some manner of firearms were involved in forcing him to sing this way.

I believe that "Trafalgar" is their crowning glory. That album certainly came out of an incredibly creative period for the brother's.

maybe it's just me, but I always had a problem with the way Robin belts the notes out in the chorus. He sounds just fine singing it regularly the first time but when he repeats it and forces the notes out, he just doesn't pull it off. I think he could have done a lot better by just crescendo a bit on the repeat and not hollering so much.

kurtmorr I understand what you're saying..BUT..I actually Love it!!....and I love Barry here too...especially with his deep "Hey, Hey, ...Hey!"
