So funky. Beck writes damn party anthems !

I’d like to do a test of how similar the musical tastes of other big fans of Beck are to mine. Of the songs on _Golden Feelings_ I consider the following to be excellent compositions: “The F****d Up Blues”, “No Money No Honey”, “Schmoozer”, “Heartland Feeling”, “Super Golden Black Sunchild”, “Feelings”, “Gettin’ Home”, and “Totally Confused”. I think “Bad Energy”, “Bogus Soul”, “Mutherfukka”, and “People Gettin’ Busy” are forgettable — good, but merely good. And lastly, I think that “Special People”, “Magic Stationwagon”, “Trouble All My Days”, “Soul Sucked Dry”, and “Will I Be Ignored by the Lord?” should have just been kept off the album. Who agrees?

This album is not about being good. Just like Stereopathetic Soulmanure being exactly what it is called. I guess he wanted to show us that you don't need to be a tryhard to sell crappy shit or at least he didn't need to. I really love Mellow Gold tho to put things in perspective.... Cheers!

I agree with OE vR that the album is not about being good, but I do see what you're trying to do, because some songs work definitely more than others. The songs I'm meh on, personally, are Gettin' Home, Totally Confused, and Bogus Soul. But it's important for them to be on the album I guess. Overall I'm just surprised you said "Will I Be Ignored by the Lord" shouldn't have been there, it's one of the best on the album in my opinion.
