Just throwing it out there: this album was recorded in Toldeo, Spain.
The normal English word is not slide, that is the American, rather
chute, which in Spanish is the equivalent to "fix" in the drug sense:
for me it's about addiction.

When I was a kid my dad raised me on The Beautiful South. I sang along with all the songs, without understanding the words. As I got older and understood more, they became more and more beautiful.
Same here i knew every word when i was kid but didnt understand the meaning soon as i here beautiful south it reminds me of my dad and being a kid
