Beatles, The - When I Get Home Lyrics
Whoa-I, whoa-I
I got a whole lot of things to tell her
When I get home
Come on, out of my way
Cos I'm gonna see my baby today
To her
Whoa-I, whoa-I
I got a whole lot of things to tell her
When I get home
Come on if you please
I've got no time for trivialities
I've got a girl who's waiting home for me tonight
Whoa-I, whoa-I
When I get home
When I'm getting home tonight
I'm gonna hold her tight
I'm gonna love her till the cows come home
I bet I'll love her more
Till I walk out that door
Again
Come on, let me through
I've got so many things I've got to do
I've got no business being here with you
This way
Whoa-I, whoa-I
I've got a whole lot of things to tell her
When I get home, yeah
I've got a whole lot of things to tell her
When I get home

LOVE THE BEATLES!!!
John beating that Rickenbacker into submission
After becoming reacquainted with Rubber Soul (knowing from almost eleven years of age).....and then listening to this - one can only see how much they changed in the year between. Actually they more or less changed from album to album. What is Abbey Road like in comparison? Nothing they did before or anyone else for that matter.

A great, powerful John song!
John channels the Shirells and the Supreams. The boys loved the Motown girl group and Every Brothers harmonies.
That's some bad guitar.
John Lennon had the most unique voice in rock and roll, absolutely fabulous and no one could rock like John Lennon, well maybe Paul McCartney but that's it! Bob.

Not one bad tune on A Hard Day’s Night. A truly exceptional album!
A pop melody, harmony and raw rock & roll power all in one song.
One of John's best vocal performances ever and a rockin' song to match. Extremely obscure song to most people except Beatles fans. Thanks John, we needed this !!
John Lennon took over this album.
A Hard Days Night is seriously underlooked. The more I listen to it, the more I feel like it might be at least their 3rd best album.
Even their obscure songs are great.
A partir de 1:24 De donde sacabas esas notas John? Que genialidad. Que imaginación musical magnifica tenían, estos cuatro genios. Nunca habrá nada igual.
Whoa, haven't heard this one in many years .. thanks !! Good lil' rocker .... :P... not a "mocker" .. :)
I mean I'm gonna love her til the cows come home, just too cool.
Find another song with the word trivialities in it.😎
love john voice

Woah ah is the way to start a song.
Best intro
This song is so John.
I used to think of the Beatles as young, single guys during their hey day. But to my surprise all of them except for Paul were married. It makes sense though; despite the fact that he never confirmed it, some of John's songs like this one and a "Hard's Day Night" seem to have been written for his first wife Cynthia.
Johns voice is great
Andreas Fahlen Ya it is :) but, Paul’s voice is better ;D
Random Women no never, Pauls voice is good, but Johns is great.
- Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar: John Lennon
- Bass, Piano & Backing Vocal: Paul McCartney
- Lead Guitar & Backing Vocal: George Harrison
- Drums: Ringo Starr
I've recently remembered that a years ago I've heard this song when they started to sing, wow.
If you scroll up and down really quickly it's psychedelic as fuck
I havn't heard this song for a while but when I heard that intro, I got goosebumps
Golden Carmichael Why? 🤨
@Random Women I've just been listening to alot of their later song recently
This's John Lennon .
I'm gonna love you until the cows come home .
A lot of Goerge Harrison's guitar work on early Beatles songs shows how he was influenced by his idol Carl Perkins.
THE INCREDIBLE POWERFUL VOICE OF THE GREAT JOHN LENNON - IS HERE IN FULL FORCE , JOE NANIA
Is there a more distinctive sound other than may be Led Zeppelin? You can tell its The Beatles before anyone sings a note!!
That's some mean guitar played by George and John.
Jahn beet wif
Beatles invented grunge rock here!
A amazing Lennon's song...
AHDN......Almost a Lennon solo album! That's tongue in cheek of course, but his dominant marl is all over it.
What a voice John Lennon had,John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the two greatest voices in rock and roll and they were in the same band, amazing Bob.
Not one filler on A Hard Day’s Night. An exceptional album.
One of the BEST of the early rockers from the Fab Four! In fact, I totally loved their 3rd Capitol Record American release, Something New.,, i feel it was their best rocking compilations of their songs from the first couple years, right before Beatles 65. (In the UK, this song and some others were on the album A Hard Days Night) Monster gems like Anytime at All and I Should Have Known Better, and more. And one of the BEST lyrics in rock and roll history...when John belts out on Anytime At All, "When I get you home tonight I'm gonna hold you tight'; and love you til the cows come home..." As if John and the other lads were never born and raised in Liverpool...but instead, were born in Wisconsin and raised on dairy farms How would songwriters John and Paul know anything about cows grazing all day in the pastures? Then, coming home to their barns? And, having been born in Milwaukee myself...just like Dad, and being a proud second generation German American after my grandparents left Germany in the 1920's...The Beatles may not have grown up eating English Bangers, fish and chips and chugging pints of warm Guinness Stout. instead, John Paul, George and Ringo would have been raised on Bratwurst, Cheddar Cheese, and chugging Schlitz or Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer! - And they would never have been Liverpool Football fans--- they would have been lifetime Green Bay Packer Football Fans! Long live The Beatles---forever more!!
John had 110% committment on every vocal. He worked his ass off for this band.
When I Get Home and Not a Second Time are so very underrated songs John made, imo
I also love All I got to do
Always one of my favorite Beatles album cuts although there are many. A real rock driver with great vocals, harmonies, unique melodic guitar work and very fine and fitting drumming by Ringo. It's also lots of fun to play the drums to as well.
Wowoaaaaaaaaaa
Niko! Let's go bowling!
Lennon was on fire through this whole album.
His voice is unique!!
Ho visto poco fa un tuo filmato.e vedere te mi fa ricordare chi ero. Scherzi e prese in giro sempre sorridenti e sempre con il buon umore.tankyou dal cuore tenero e dolce caro il mio John
So crazy, I never heard this until yesterday some how...it was playing in my Uber. Definitely waaay slept on!
I can see why people think Ringo was a very good Drummer.
John is on fire this whole album...he is at his finest here.
Sounds revolver in advance
the combination of john's rough voice singing lead and paul & george during the chorus, vocalising... hhjjjj im deceased it's too good
People waste their money trying to si.ng like this...
Johns vocals are powerful and Ringos drums be crazy radical . I really dont know if there is any other song with this particular harmony on vocals
John wasn't fucking around on this album at all, man. All of his leads sound so damn energetic.
SUCH A FUCKING CUTE SONG OMGGG
This song kicks ass ...
proto punk?
♡♡♡

One of the best álbum ever. Beatlemania forever!!!
"c'mon if ya please,
I got no time for trivialities "
Gee on this album Paul is essentially a harmony singer. Three songs from Sir Paul. Ever notice how every other was a monster in the ealy days?
Am I the only person that gets these very politically incorrect lyrics ?? John is telling some girl to hurry up and get down with him so he can go home to his wife. And..tell her all about it.
Never got them saying the Stones are the greatest rock and roll band. Meet the Beatles alone settled that.
A song he wrote for his wife, Cynthia 💖
It is a hair too fast.
This is the type of Beatle songs I prefer, over boring Let it be, Hey jude, and Yesterday.
Those three songs were public-domain gospel melodies to which Paul McCartney just added lyrics.
Another great song
John was so talented and earned his title of the sexy Beatles. R.I.P. Johnny.
Gawd this song is electrifying
Il migliore album di john
56 of you folks need to get schooled. Best band ever, hands down. Quit listening to Keith Richards
Jeffrey Simmons Richards actually call the Sgt Pepper album crummy.
He’s had plenty of things to say about the Beatles. Sgt Pepper he called Rubbish
Keith Richards in my opinion is rubbish!
The Stones are jealous. They’ve had a respectable 50-year run, but nothing in their outfit approaches the creative intensity of the Beatles. And let’s face it: throughout the Beatles’ action-packed seven years, the Stones could do little but watch and try to imitate. (By the 70s they got much better.)
Top drawer.
Listening to this whole album reminds me of long car rides home. Especially this song, like my family would just blast the Beatles on the way. Most of my good childhood memories we’re because the Beatles were always playing either in the background or just straight up jamming. I have so much love for the Beatles. They carry a special place in my heart.
The same in my case!!!
Regards!!
This song would have made a great closing song for the movie "A Hard Days Night" instead of playing the theme song twice. A really good powerful rocker in my opinion.
John at his best caveman rock
About mid 70s I recorded this off the radio onto cassette and only got half the song. And that's how it stayed till I was older and got my own albums before I heard the song in full. It's a lot easier these days lol
the best band is the beatles
Please and trivialities for a rhyme! Only Lennon.
ウォウォ ア゛~~
I absolutely love John’s rhythm guitar on this track!
Im 19, no one in my family likes the beatles, only my grandpa but he doesn't understand english lol. I thank him for showing me the beatles,
I'm 30 and have only met 1 person who doesn't like the Beatles
Plant the seed on others about this great music, saludos desde mexico
i'm only 23 and i love the beatles
This song was perfect for dancing the Hully Gully or the Jerk....oh lord...am I OLD or what??????
Capismama Hully Gully. Cool. I haven’t heard that name in a while.
Thanx to Universal Music Group. whoever you are, you done good releasing this trove of music.
The beatles I she Good night mom
Isn't ringo's theme on Hard days night LP?
Odd how this comment came up on this song when I posted it on another song from Hard days night?
Not on the British original. They padded US albums with the non Beatles tracks- at least on the Help! Album.
A personal fave of mine from A Hard Day's Night!
You can faintly make out one of Johns backing vocals cracking on the right channel at 0:35
In the Mono version, I love the way John says the word ‘walk’ at 1:28
A Beatle song nobody talks about.
Yeah I love this one
This is completely unrealized by the band as it wants to rock much harder than they let it. It should (should) have been the first hard rock song. Also, they really didn’t sing the harmony (O-O-Oh I) very well, unusual for them. Oh, well.
.......not that she'll listen
The guitar scratching in synch with the snare drum. Fabulous!!! Rocki and roll !!
1:15-1:35: one of the best, if not the best in my opinion, bridges of all their songs, with a great guitar riff to boot!
Yeah you are.right!!!
the bass too
not release in US on HDN!!! boo hoo!
Audrey Layne Don't worry man, it was included onto Something New.
Just remembered this song... thank God it's remastered on Youtube <3
