Beatles, The My Bonnie Comments
My name is Bonnie LoL
This rendition is amazing ❤️🤩
The Beatles song
this is a great song; i remember that year, 1974
John’s rhythm like roaring train and George’s solo was out of this world. I wonder beside singing what Sheridan played in this song?
It is not George
Playing the solo...
GracieHumaitaIsrael
Do you know who then played the solo?
SK Shum it was Tony Sheridan
bring back my Beatles to me
Yeeeeee bring back my Beatles to meeeeeee
OFF WITH PETES HEAD !!!!!!!
Paul is the best!
Tony Sheridan was the Elvis of the UK.........he was the composer of this song
The Song is a traditional.
Early Beatles kicking ass !!!!
Whoever is singing, it doesn't sound like John or Paul.
Tony Sheridan.
@The Ask Trixie Channel Thanks
The guitar solo is literally an early, blistering fuzzy hard rock sound. Even then, they were breaking the mould.
Tony Sheridan plays the solo. George played all the other lead guitar licks
I'm sorry, Pete was pretty good on this one. I agree he's no Ringo. But he holds his own. And I certainly hope he was compensated for his work. God knows he's got a great resume. I root for the insulted underdog. What can I say. Great song either way
Pete best was just ripped out of the front picture :> and behind it is a picture of ringo lol
At least he's still on the cover, in front of the vehicle to the left
[Pre-Chorus]
My Bonnie lies over the ocean
My Bonnie lies over the sea
My Bonnie lies over the ocean
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me
[Pre-Chorus]
My Bonnie lies over the ocean
My Bonnie lies over the sea
Well my Bonnie lies over the ocean
Yeah bring back my Bonnie to me
[Chorus]
Yeah bring back, ah bring back
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me to me
Oh bring back, oh bring back
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me
[Pre-Chorus]
Well my Bonnie lies over the ocean
My Bonnie lies over the sea
Yeah my Bonnie lies over the ocean
Oh I said bring back my Bonnie to me
[Chorus]
,. Thanks... Good Luck...
That whole sound seems to be a precurser to "Heavy".
That lead, blistering and straning, is before its time. Superb.
1:38 the best part
Right then, listen in fuckers! This is the REAL My Bonnie! Every 1 SHOULD play & sing EXACTLY like this REAL version! None of that fucking clown circus polka waltz thank u!
Pete best despite the flack he gets his drumming actually seems pretty decent on this
Would be if he was actually playing on this recording;)
@Adrina The Great He does play on this?
This was recorded in 1961 a year before Ringo joined the personal for this song is :
Tony Sheridan:Lead vocals,Guitar
John Lennon:Guitar,Backing vocals
Paul McCartney:Bass,Backing vocals
George Harrison:Guitar,Backing vocals
Pete Best:Drums
Pete was very good on this one.
Tout premier enregistrement des Beatles... Une composition de Bert Kaempfert...
Awesome. Some great Rock riffs in this.
MY BONNIE ES OTRO CLÁSICO QUE TIENE MUCHA HISTORIA RELACIONADA CON LOS CUATRO MELENUDOS DE LIVERPOOL.
1.25 speed though just gives it a diff vibe its cool yet odd to me
I've been meaning to listen to this and lemme tell you I've liked the Beatles for like a year now and this the song that got them started. now I listen to this for the first time and almost had a heart attack
The Beat Brothers!
Woody-WoodPeacker
This cover is so damn underrated! Superb!
MWM they made it
Produziert 1961 vom deutschen Entdecker Bert Kaempfert mit den "The Beat Brothers", aus denen "The Beatles" wurden. Der späterer Manager Brain Epstein und Produzent George Martin kamen erst 1962 ins Spiel.
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
My Bonnie lies over the sea.
My Bonnie lies over the ocean.
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me.
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
My Bonnie lies over the sea.
Well my Bonnie lies over the ocean.
Yeah bring back my Bonnie to me.
Yeah bring back, ah bring back,
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me to me.
Oh bring back, oh bring back,
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me.
Well my Bonnie lies over the ocean,
My Bonnie lies over the sea.
Yeah my Bonnie lies over the ocean.
Oh I said bring back my Bonnie to me.
Yeah bring back, ah bring back,
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me to me.
Oh bring back, ah bring back,
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me.
goes from slow to light rock to pure rock. A proto-form of all the songs such as You Never Give Me Your Money, Band On The Run, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Stairway To Heaven
May I add Judas Priest's Dreamer Deceiver to the list ??
My eyes lit up when I found this album in a little record shop years ago...wish I could get across the ocean now...worry family...love the Beatles ❤️
Named my daughter Bonnie after hearing this about 7 months ago on the radio.
Never tire of hearing it!
Andrew Dixon I named my daughter Bonnie, she will be one in November. I’ve always loved this song growing up. Love her name, so pretty
Do they actually PLAY this on the radio?! 😃
@Agustin DLVega YES. Tony Sheridan on vocals backed by Paul John George & Pete.
Came here because of a friend’s recommendation. That guitar solo is pretty cool
This is another example of Pete Best's drumming. While it is nowhere near as bad as on the recording of "Love Me Do", I (and legions of other Beatles fans) am happy that Ringo replaced Best. Best's drumming here is intensely unimaginative; he only uses the ride, bass drum, and snare, and does the same rapid snare fill every single time. It's like he doesn't know that other drums exist besides the snare and bass.
Still an enjoyable tune though.
The only thing that Ringo did better than Pete was playing "the four lads from Liverpool" schtick. Pete was more a quiet type and wouldn't have presented as well to the media. As for the infamous Love Me Do (Pete Best) track, they all sound like s*** on it. Lol. So does the entire mix while we're at it. Who the hell turned up the levels on Pete's cymbals? And after all that followed with kicking out Pete and bringing in Ringo, George Martin still used a session drummer. Lol
Gern Blanston A drummer going wildly in and out of time can throw off everyone else’s performance, while a poor performance by everyone else does not cause a drummer to go wildly in and out of time... but thanks for your uninformed opinion.
@mrblue99999 Lolol you've been drinking that "official" Beatle narrative Kool-Aid too long, my friend.
@Gern Blanston So, what you say is right, and if someone disagrees with you they're wrong. Nice. For a lot of people, like me, Ringo is very creative, and a very good drummer. There's a video on Youtube where you can see how Pete best change the bpm like 8 times in "Love Me Do"!!! On the other hand, Ringo never lost the beat (literally, it's been proven). You can hear just the drum track and you would recognize what song it is. That's very creative, he gave each song what they needed. Every songwriter would want a drummer like Ringo, that plays and puts everything where it has to be. Martin used a session drummer on the LP version of "Love me do", because he had work with Andy White before, not because Ringo was bad. Ringo even played on the single version.
Sounds almost like Elvis in the beginning
Tony Sheridan was the 'Elvis' of Germany
@Kevin Kamphaus That's cool
Who plays the solo? George?
Greg Hubbard I’d be willing to bet the Solo is Tony Sheridan playing a strat or similar Fender Instrument.
harrisons
@Joshua Zolten Sheridan played a Gretsch at the time
Yes. George Harrison played the Solo. Not Tony Sheridan.
Nah, George played a “Grazioso” Resonet Futurama. George couldn’t afford his iconic Gretsch G6128 until 1962 when he saw it being sold on a news paper.
nadie viene por el libro de Bryce Echenique ???? un mundo para Julius....
¿De qué trata ese libro? Acabas de despertar mi curiosidad
Had the 45 RPM of this, released if I remember correctly on DECCA in N. Am. AFTER they had their first hits on Capitol. Can't remember the flip side which was again sung with Tony Sheridan. (Ain't She Sweet, sticks in my mind)
When the Saints go Marching used to be the flip side on this single.
Our copy is on ATCO.
