Beatles, The Maggie Mae Comments
they sound like their trying to impersonate someone else impersonating a stereotypical scouser
I love The Beatles with all my heart❤
The show The Wackers (1975), is set in Liverpool and contains many local references. One character really doesn't like his in-laws, and he refers to his son-in-law's mother (named Margaret) as Maggie Mae, for which his daughter criticizes him, reminding him that Maggie Mae is a song about a prostitute, much to his amusement.
and then they decided they're done with the song. good.
Me every time:
From minute 0:00 to 0:39 Yeeeaaahhhhh!!!!
Minute 0:40 Oh no!!!! Let's hear it one more time
The Beatles really loved Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.
The Quarry men
Opening guitar is a little bit like the opening guitar on Hard days Night song
might be the ssame chord
John: I need a liverpudlian accent
Paul, ringo and george: ...
My Fave Beatles song always
oh hey its me
Just imagine if the Beatles had stayed together. They could have become like a scouse Chaz and Dave
wow, john's accent really comes out in this, not much in The quarrymen version
Yeah I think he's exaggerating the Scouse a bit here
@joeakajoe1 maybe, maybe not
@Andrew White this makes me think of a scouse Chaz and Dave
which Quarrymen version? I haven't been able to find a real one. Just a version of Maggie Mae from the Nowhere boy film

Probably my least favorite Beatles song...I found it to be very Disneyfied
It's not even a Beatles song, it's an old folk song from Liverpool

Leave it to the beatles to make a song, not finish it and still put it on a album.
Saltwaterebel well, been wrong before. Sure it won’t be the last time. Thanks
The Beatles themselves had basically nothing to do with editing the album. By the time it came out, the band pretty much existed in name only. The only reason it got released at all was because they needed a tie-in to the documentary film of the sessions.
They literally did that for 8 songs on Abbey Road. They just made it into a medley lol.
Leave it to the Beatles to make an album, not finish it and still release it
leave it to the beatles to invvent a time machine, travel back in time to 1757 to write a folk song without finishing it, travel back to 1969 and still put it on an album
oh dirty Maggie Mae they have taken her away as she Never walked down lime street anymore oh the judge he guilty found her for robbing the homeward bounder that dirty no good robbin' Maggie Mae. Tis the part of Liverpool they returned me to. Two pounds in a week that was my pay
...and *she'll never walk* down Lime Street...
'Tis the *port* of Liverpool...
Two *pound ten* a week...
Indisputably the absolute greatest song anyone ever made. This song will be looked upon as a masterpiece for thousands of years to come.
Don't know if sarcasm or just an idiot.
@Teecee queens overrated fuck off.
@Sushi Uchiha it's a joke
Isak laarson you’ve commented that on other songs
@Slambo TV he's pretty much the justin y. Of beatles comments.
Ah many "Maggie's" in our ancestry .. Many are products of sailors and "port women".. I am one of them.. Irish Sailor being taken just like this story.. except she didn't go to jail and my great grandmother went to an orphanage.. He would be my great great grandfather .. "Rankin"..she would be Ms. Sara Dale.. Would not be here without those two.. I love these old tales.. Thank you "Beatles" for giving us a glimpse of Liverpool History.
Maggie mae is my moms name
Hannah likes it

couldn't have been spector arranging and conducting: he was only brought in to fix the master tapes after the boys had listened and did not like them as is.
lohn lennon lead vocal with paulie sounding out of key, backing vocal
Really does reflect a bit of their skiffle days, sounds like a fun song!
how are the albums uploaded on youtube.... i mean its amazing and beautiful that they are but how did it happen did sony give up? and will channels like sky live and el perro beatle be able to stay up and not get deleted?
Chavi Rivera Me and you both. PS Sky Live is the best! 😁✌️❤️
I heard paul got the rights to the musiv again but idk it's great though
Chavi Rivera perro beatle didn’t even have the original instruments, only vocals. Which makes me laugh that he got striked by that
