I saw on TV recently a story of the man who was driving the band in that car we see at the end of the video..well, the man who drove them away also drove, on his last day before retirement, Paul McCartney to the stage of a Billy Joel concert where he was doing a guest spot. I am not sure if it was at the SheaStadium, (isn't that gone now?) or another. The man was telling Paul McCartney all about it.

You can understand every word they sing, they are working so hard the stage, no one is grabbing a crutch to get fan attention, yet fans are nothing but attention, screaming, cheering, fainting....and if today these grandmas would say that they were at the best concert of the century, I would say "Yes, you were!" and here in 2020 I am jealous that I never got a chance to see This amazing band. Oh my god I flew in that helicopter....my dad is a commercial photographer...an he new I liked helicopters...he's say I'm going to take some pictures do u want to come hell yes I said....the job was to take photos of SPYRA GYRA on a tug boat in front of the statue if liberty on a tug boat...for their album cover,i guess...he didn't even know the bands name,an my dad is a keyboard player,organ....he said what does it matter...I think he just got called from the bands manager,and the guy don't say who the band was...but it was a few miles from this spot...that helicopter is a beast it pick up really heavy stuff,when I got in it,it over whelmed me and I just laid right down in the floor....the pilot turn around to tell me to sit down before we took off and when he turned around I was laying flat on my back and he just laughed,that will work ...then he took off...and flew over to the tug boat and the statue if liberty,they were waiting for us.he circle a couple times dad took some photos...the pilot asked if there was any thing else,after 3 passes...dad shrugged an said something....and that was the end,job finished...he like those aerial jobs because he wasn't scared of the situation,of flying....been to Shea,a lot we were Mets fans...

No, not only this concert, touring as a whole.

They never played this live, John Lennon thought it was lousy.

The reality was you could probably hear the screaming all the way to New Jersey. Place was nuts.

Apart from their unique collective genius, the Beatles were a HARD-working band, and had served a long, tough apprenticeship before becoming an 'overnight sensation'. Any comparison with today's confected Boy Wonders borders on blasphemy.

The only reason the comparison is made is that girls screaming is now thought of as a boy band thing but Beatlemania was something far far bigger. They were front page news for years, politicians wanted to be seen with them, everyone in the world from kids to grannies knew their names and they were regarded by all young people as spokesmen for the huge social changes that were happening.
