Beatles, The - Doctor Robert Lyrics
Ring my friend, I said you call Doctor Robert
Day or night he'll be there any time at all, Doctor Robert
Doctor Robert, you're a new and better man
He helps you to understand
He does everything he can, Doctor Robert
If you're down he'll pick you up, Doctor Robert
Take a drink from his special cup, Doctor Robert
Doctor Robert, he's a man you must believe
Helping everyone in need
No one can succeed like Doctor Robert
Well, well, well, you're feeling fine
Well, well, well, he'll make you... Doctor Robert
My friend works for the national health, Doctor Robert
Doctor Robert, you're a new and better man
He helps you to understand
He does everything he can, Doctor Robert
Well, well, well, you're feeling fine
Well, well, well, he'll make you... Doctor Robert
Ring my friend, I said you'd call Doctor Robert
Ring my friend, I said you'd call Doctor Robert

Beatles, The Doctor Robert Comments
A great tune for Medicaid for all and Bernie Sanders.
So I get in the 'black sedan' and this one is playin. I thought I was Dr Feelgood! Am I this guy too? I like bein Sgt Pepper. But you know me and my 'many hats'. A touching tribute nonetheless.
I also see you've uploaded it a day after my birthday. I think the song is pretty good. I had never heard it before.
I definitely "do everything I can", but the #InterdimensionalBrainParasites help too! See you around!
God, Lennon was such a damaged prick. So what? This, to me, is the greatest pop song of all time, and they did fifty of them.
THEY ARE SO AMAZING
There came a time after the Beatles hit when their song styling, instrumentation, and production values started to reflect a little of the sameness malady....there is only so many ways you can disguise barre chords, songs heavy on chordal foundations for the rhythm and melody, etc. and it was about that time when Revolver, For Sale and Rubber Soul emerged and the Fab Four and George as in Martin took it to another level, in my book. Songs like Dr. Robert, Rain, Tax Man and others borrowed heavily on the sold song writing formulas relating to guitar, but the Beatles began to integrate audio tricks, guitar pedals, international/world music styles into their song-writing recipes and boy, does it show in tunes like this. Dr. Robert could have been a boring piece, but the clipping tempo, harpsichord/clavinette or whatever keyboard it was, the embellished guitar tone, overdrive-chorus or whatever....just made this era so rich and diverse in production values and pleasure to the old eardrums. And, boy, when Paul and John collaborated on tunes, and especially vocal arrangements, damn, it was special. Dr. Robert, a buried or hidden Beatles song treasure....here's looking at you, kid.
👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪👍👍🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Revolver is a crap, recording-wise and album design-wise. At least it should have had a color jacket.

Didnt George write this one ?
I need Dr. Robert
so, thats how i lost my medical license
The sound of the song is still relevant today but it would be great if revolver has a new mix
More drums please Giles!
Ringo star is that film you keep going back to on Netflix because it’s so good and you’ll never get bored of it
main ringtone on my smartphone..
1966 was when they had the best guitar tone. All of Revolver and Rain/Paperback Writer is tone heaven.
Well,well,well,wow
I just wish the ending lasted forever...
The part where they go, "Well, well, well, you're feeling fine..." is sublime when you're on acid. Absolutely blew my mind as a 20-something.
Ahhh.......I feel much better now doctor...
I can’t see why people don’t love Doctor Robert!? It’s a good song, what’s not to like (apart from drugs)
The main guitar riff.
Very John Lennon.
STEREO kicks in.......................
Masterpiece.
As is the whole album.
E assim o Lsd aparece na vida dos Beatles.
Why don’t I like this?
This sounds like an advertisement for a doctor
Ringo as always just doing his job, keeping the time, nothing flashy but he's always there, reliable & solid, like that old easy chair that you can rely on.
Rusty Kuntz listen to the anthology version of strawberry fields and tell me he’s an easy chair
The days when music was both cool and a little humorous.
Those maracas add some nice percussion too.
I think You're, exactly, right! He was a great drummer: whomp, crack!
He's behind the beat, pulling the peacocks into the pocket. 😊
you're such a Gonki as me Doctor Rober.. ;)
Dr. Robert = First acid Trip...
Love it.
Kudos to Doctor Robert for giving them LSD
Please, someone, send me to a Groovy Dr. Robert real fast
weakest song in the album in my opinion
Ring my friend, I said you call Doctor Robert

Helping everyone in need

My friend works for the national health, Doctor Robert
Don't pay money just to see yourself with Doctor Robert
Doctor Robert, you're a new and better man

Doctor Robert
Back in the day in 1966, Dr Robert, I'm ONLY sleeping, and your bird can sing, were left off REVOLVER on the American ALBUM, that is where the butcher's ALBUM came from those songs were on that AMERICAN ALBUM, shame on CAPITOL RECORDS, 3 LENNON SONGS were kept off this GREAT ALBUM what a sham.
Revolver is the Beatles first edgy and experimental album thanks to drugs, it was like the test run for Sgt Peppers and the White album
I believe the prelude was Rubber Soul. Special attention to "Nowhere Man". Actually, one look at the LP cover and you can see they're "not right"..... even the camera lens is distorted.
Dr. Robert-------->S P E E D When songs were written in code to elude "parental investigation".
National Health!? Wish 1 were here, instead we have what was called the "Flexner Report'" in 1910. It is lousy and makes MDs wealthy. Guarantees it! In the new Dixie Republic we do not want this set up, or Fractional Reserve banking, or Income Tax! This is nothing but theft, where a person cannot even taste their supper before it is taken first. What a Crock!
Feel like this inspired mrs.Robinson
Anything is possible...
at 00:55 it bugs me so much how they ended the high harmony with a low part but maybe it’s cause i’m on acid i notice lol
They missed that by a long shot it's actually Dr Zhivago
If you don't dance when you listen to this, there's a massive chance you've died. Seek help.
Seek Doctor Robert
Love the beatles they're music is religion to the ear ✌
"remastered " is total crap by Niles Martin.
Niles ,you did nothing to enhance this greatest of music ,only fuck it up with your ears.
This was one of the 3 John-led songs that appeared on the US release "Yesterday & Today." I've read that different mixes were put on that album as the guys were still working on Revolver at the time, & Capitol wanted to bridge the gap between Rubber Soul & Revolver.
Well done, John Lennon, a typical John Lennon song. Love it.
Lennon and more drugs. Damn he could sure make music. Awesome song. These were not on the American Revolver and they (Dr Robert, I'm Only Sleeping and And Your Bird Can Sing) and they are the Heart of Revolver. I has the British Revolver imported in 1980. What a thrill that was.!
Dr. Roberts was a British dentist who seemingly drugged the band members with LSD without they knowing it. So here they are teasing him.
i love this song
Absolutely 100% my favorite Beatles song.
How can anybody possibly have a favorite Beatles song?
Their two greatest albums, Rubber Soul and Revolver, AGREE?
Almost, although Abbey Road is up there also.
- Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar & Harmonium: John Lennon
- Bass & Backing Vocal: Paul McCartney
- Lead Guitars, Maracas & Backing Vocal: George Harrison
- Drums: Ringo Starr
GREATNESS!!
I think 111 people hear need to visit old Dr. Roberts.

My Daughter is insane! It's gonna be bad for everyone
Y si los Beatles hubieran tenido otro productor, Tendrían el mismo sonido?

A very underrated song by the Fab Four. Guitar work is awesome and the harmonies are awesome.

Dr. Robert Freymann.
