Beastie Boys - I Don't Know Lyrics
What's pleasing to the eye
In the delusion of my sight
Is not what I find when I reach into the light
I have lost my mind
I'm walking through time
Pretending and hoping to find
That distant peace of mind
I don't know
Who does know
There is no
Where to go
It's not so simple as I try to wish
But then again what is?
So on I go
I don't know
Who does know
There is no
Where to go

Beastie Boys I Don't Know Comments
I remember driving down the mountain after a crazy snowboarding season in Val Thorens listening to this. Golden memories.
This just popped up on my Discovery playlist and I was sooo surprised to see that this is a Beastie Boys track. It’s just so mellow and hate to get sappy, but I’m at the point in life where everyone is asking me about my plan, what are you going to do? College?..I don’t know
if you'd tell me this was an old Foo Fighters outtake ,I'd believe it.

These guys are so gifted
Everything that us gen x'ers did to make the world a better place seemed all to come to an end in 2001. This track (to Me) seems to capture the sort of melancholy vibe we all had in 1998. A feeling of sanctity, solidarity and complete acceptance of our selves and all the cultures around the world. We were awakened as if to a higher power, one of love, forgiveness and compassion. All of it came crashing to a halt on 9/11 as bigotry, hatred, war, revenge, false patriotism, corporate greed and the deeds of evil American men sent all our cultural accomplishments crashing down to the ground in less than 24 hours. I'd give anything to go back and relive the 90's. I'd warn as many people as I could... but you know, I have to wonder if any one would listen. The 90's IMO was the victory that the love generation of the 60's always wanted to achieve but failed. Ironically so did the Gen xers. Sorry every one. We failed you too... Dearest Millenials and Generation Z, The torch is now in your hands. Please don't make the same mistakes we did. You must never let your guard down, no matter how large your cultural victories may become. Remember that the Spawn of Trump will be waiting for the moment we forget the past. They will strike viciously and with a calculative attack, ready to kill the movement with one shot in the dark. It will bring with it the same Bigotry and hatred and greed that it does now. Hold the torch high and strong. Teach your children... NEVER AGAIN can we let this happen to our society. The beasties along with other musical great from that time were aware of it back when we were too happy to care. They warned us this day would come. and here we are. Thank you beastie boys, for helping make the world a more conscious place
Thanks for everything Yauch
She just sings Doo, doo, doo... but I love Miho Hatori's voice!
To the 11 people who disliked this. I mean, what the fucking hell man? What emptiness are you carrying?
This track, musically and lyrically, is beautiful.
Especially considering this amazing dude died 5 years after writing it. Heartbreaking.
People are fucking weird.
nerp23 he died 10 years after Hello Nasty was released. Hard to tell when he wrote the song. Could have been written at any point in time.
This track sounds so much like a Phish song. Am I the only one who hears that?
I agree. It also sounds like it could be an old Clapton song, in the intervals, progression, and timing, if not the details.
Who dat?
Probably the best Beasties song out there. They were never scared to take a risk.
To the original uploader...goldentony111: this *IS* Adam "MCA" Yauch singing!
this song should have 6.700.000.000.000 like

If you thumbs downed this, you're not a a true Beastie Boys fan.

They really were more than a Hip Hop band. This is almost like the best of the Beatles. R.I.P MCA and kudos to the remaining two. You really are loved boys.
