Beach Boys - Walk On By Lyrics

One two three four

If you see me walking down the street
And I start to cry
Walk on by

Walk on by
Foolish pride
I break down and cry
Cry
Cry

Does anyone know what album this was meant to be on?

    O.... L....

Probably the 20/20 album. Its on the bonus cuts on the C.D

    O.... L....

nah I think this was recorded around the time they did friends

  10. B.... ....

Not bad... doesn't beat The Stranglers tho

+WollyTheWolf, in the other "Walk On By" video, that "out of place" vocal part is actually correct, as is the timing. It's the phrase "... each time we meet" from the line "and I start to cry / each time we meet." In this edit, you have Brian singing the chorus too early (1:52). If the apparent audio glitch with the phrase "... each time we meet" is too distracting, perhaps just mute this part, and have Brian go into the chorus at the right time.

  12. t.... D....

how did he get his hair so perfect

    t.... D....

@steve donahue take it you are from the good ole usa. check the record books i think the fab 4 have it

    t.... D....

    t.... D....

steve donahue The Beach Boys at their best were better than the Beatles at their best. That is all.

Jay Sebring, Manson family murder victim, was his hairdresser

  13. D.... T....

Can we agree on haunting yet beautiful!

  14. K.... T....

Man....Brian’s voice is heart shattering, I’ve been wanting to learn the piano part..but there’s no sheet music I can find of this version, simply because this was never released as a full song, but I like the edit you made, sounds a lot cleaner, also, can’t read sheet music sadly

    K.... T....

    Use your ear, padawan

    K.... T....

Learning sheet music isn't as hard as you think it is. This is a pretty basic piano part. Just give it a shot you'll get it.

  15. S.... L....

    gorgeous

  16. A.... T....

Great talent...sadly lacking in todays pop music industry.

    A.... T....

    Very true!

    A.... T....

    Leave dead corps alone
    You will get Carla

    A.... T....

    If Korean flight 801 would
    Get sick from carrying a
    Dead corps in his moth

    A.... T....

    @Carol Ziegler Fuck off loony

  17. W.... ....

I put a like on this video because WollyTheWolf wanted me to do that, ok then. It's an ok song though.

  18. R.... ....

This version is really the best!

  19. P.... P....

Oh no! Why didn't he finish it????

    P.... P....

I know, it sucks! The possibilities could've been endless if the other Beach Boys (especially Mike Love) and the record labels would just back off and let Brian do his thing.

WollyTheWolf check out the Beach Boys Revisionist playlist.

Same reason so many other great Wilson productions from this era were never finished/lost entirely to time. Brian was immensely troubled by depression (his father, Mike Love, etc.), and due to sales of their albums dropping off pretty harshly in the late 60's-early 70's he didn't have the confidence like he once did. I think Brian is without question the definition of an American treasure. People these days (including a lot of older people who were young when The Beach Boys were big) didn't really appreciate his work like they should've.
