First recorded and released by Bob (Norberg) & Sheri (Pomeroy) in 1961 on Safari Records 45rpm #101. It was Brian's first commercial recording production. Of course, he also wrote it. With the Bob & Sheri recording Brian also used strings. As far as the use of strings on rock and roll songs.....In October of 1958 Buddy Holly used strings on four songs he recorded including "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" and "True Love Ways". Also in October of 1958 The Platters used strings on their million selling #1 hit "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". In 1959, The Drifters also use strings on their million seller "There Goes My Baby".
