It's a brilliant tune and although some will have links with Linda it should be appreciated for brilliance. Beach boys unbelievably creative.

I totally agree - they were utter legends. However, this song actually dates from 1979!
They were a great band in the 1970s as well. Sunflower, Surf's Up, Carl & the Passions: So Tough, Holland, In Concert, Love You, L.A. (Light Album) and Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue are all great albums and worth checking out ASAP.

My grandma is named Linda...

I believe the song was written by Al, about his wife at the time. They split up, which is why the song is no longer done by the Beach Boys or Brian's group.

Melody is based on Bach melody. Saw them do it live in 1978 before the album was released. Bran was there on stage. Nobody could sing and write like Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys. Happy 75th to Brian Wilson, genius.
